I understand that people seek therapy for a variety of reasons. You may want to address conflict in a relationship; you may no longer be able to manage or tolerate your symptoms; you may want to find meaning and fulfillment in your life; or you may want to gain a deeper understanding of yourself in the world. Whatever your goal, it helps to have a caring individual who will listen and guide you through this process. Therapy can help you change. It can also help you change the way you experience what you cannot control. It can challenge you to address obstacles that prevent you from attending to your emotional and physical health. With successful therapy, your pain and suffering can be transformed into relief and joy. I have over 25 years of experience and 17 years in private practice. I trained at MGH/Harvard Medical School with expert therapists. Depending on what you need, I conduct both short-term, cognitive behavioral therapy and longer-term psychodynamic therapy. I am also trained in EMDR and Hypnotherapy.

My scope of practice covers Neuro-Developmental, Depressive, Anxiety, Trauma, Disruptive, Impulse-Control and Conduct Disorders. I treat my clients through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I help my clients become aware that their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are interconnected, and that negative thoughts and emotions can lead to problematic behaviors. Through CBT I help clients identify and challenge these negative thoughts, and replace them with more positive and constructive ones reducing emotional distress. I am a proud mental health affiliate of Southington Pediatric Associates. I am also listed on the Early Childhood Collaborative of Southington’s (ECCS) website as well as being listed in the Southington Behavioral Health Resource Directory. Finally, I am proud to announce that my practice has just received a grant from ECCS to teach parenting. In addition to CBT, I also help my clients engage in stoic philosophy. Like CBT, stoicism provides a compass for practical strategies for managing thoughts and emotions. It emphasizes the importance of focusing on what is within one's control, accepting what is outside of one's control, and cultivating a sense of resilience in the face of adversity.
