Please e-mail, to be placed on waitlist. After 15 years working with community-based, non-profit agencies in multiple roles as well as about 20 years working with vulnerable youth, I am happily dedicated to private practice care. My practice is centered around whole-person treatment. Together, we will explore root causes to your symptoms, the narrative of your family system, process old trauma and develop healthy coping skills to manage your symptoms. Trauma, OCD, Generalized Anxiety and Codependency Treatment, are my primary specialties, and I look forward to learning about and helping you identify your unique goals for therapy. I find that Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or Trauma-Focused CBT as well as Short-term, Solution Focused Therapy, are efficient in the goal-setting process for most clients. I also use Narrative Therapy and Depression Treatment Quality Improvement (DTQI) methods to support reducing Depression. Treatment is not one-size fits all. My approach is to hold empathy, compassion and work from the stance that everyone can grow into the person they want to be. I do my best to be real and infuse humor in my style of therapy. I believe in humility and appropriate self-disclosure, but the focus is always on you! If you would like a free-consult, please e-mail for the fastest response!

Anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationships can all be extremely difficult. I appreciate how hard it is to reach out for help, but I want to hear your story and find out about your struggles as well as your strengths. So, let's figure this out together! Previous to opening my own private practice I had worked in a small clinic focused upon people struggling with personality disorders. Additionally, I have experience working with depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, marital issues, and more. I became a therapist after 20 years as a professional musician and traveling all over the world. I believe my unique life experience has helped me to appreciate my patients and their unique stories, challenges, strengths, and desires.

Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, grief-stricken, confused, or just want an unbiased (professional) opinion, I would love to help! Even looking for a therapist can be difficult and time-consuming; thank you for taking the time to read what I've written. And even if I'm not who you're looking for, I sincerely hope you're able to conquer the challenges in your life. I've had the pleasure of helping others toward their goals in a variety of settings, with anxiety, depression, and grief remaining at the forefront of my work up until now. Therapy sessions with me revolve around you and your preferences. I'll meet you where you're at, even if you're not yet sure where "at" is. We'll talk about where you are now and where you'd like to be and then work together to bridge the gap. While we collaborate, I'll do everything I can to provide a safe space in which you can be your true self. Something I have learned during this time is that it's okay not to be okay. No one should have to hide their experiences or feel lesser for them. I encourage you to reach out so we can talk about this.

Over the years working in a variety of settings with many types of people I have found my niche is working with people who have lasting effects from childhood trauma, addictions and compulsive behaviors, and difficulties in relationships. Clients tell me that my ability to stay consistent, calm, and grounded helps them slow down so they can connect to their body - feel their emotions - and experience themselves more whole and alive. Since 2004 I have worked with people with problematic sexual behavior and their loved ones as a Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist (CSAT) using trauma therapies and Pat Carnes Task Centered Approach. View 7 Photos I am skilled in three evidence based trauma therapies: EMDR (eye movement desensitization reprocessing), Somatic Experiencing and IFS (internal family systems.) These approaches are highly effective when used to treat both symptoms (such as anxiety or depression) and issues that for some can be resistant with traditional talk therapy. Choosing the right therapist is a process and may take several appointments to determine if you have found the right fit. I recommend having a brief chat on the phone first and if I think I may be able to help you we would schedule a consultation. If I'm not the right fit I have a large stable of solid referrals I'm happy to pass on to you.

Living with medical illness can bring stress and suffering on many levels, to the patient and caregivers. I work with my clients, consulting with their medical team as appropriate, to address this suffering in a holistic manner, keeping the client's priorities and definition of quality of life front and center. We partner together to identify the strengths that you already have, and build on those. And as needed, we introduce new resources, skills and health-promoting practices. Clients often find that through our work together they find deeper levels of meaning, joy and satisfaction in life. An important part of our work together is zeroing in on what the client hopes for, keeping that goal in our sights, and using it to energize the process.

My work with clients is based on the holistic philosophy of transpersonal, humanistic, mindfulness, and depth psychology. I use a client-centric approach that honors the lived experience and inherent wisdom of my clients in the dimensions of mind, body, emotions, spirituality, creativity, and community. The therapeutic process is focused on facilitating a client's self-awareness, self-acceptance, curiosity, and courage to change. Clients who benefit most from this approach have a strong desire to heal, gain insight, and transform insight into action. View 4 Photos I help clients reduce dependence on the habitual use of survival strategies that no longer serve their needs. The core of humanistic-oriented therapy is to help clients find the courage to be authentic in their lives and to gain freedom through consciousness. I also help clients understand their brain and how to avoid being hijacked by unhelpful reactivity. If you are a highly sensitive person (HSP) please inquire about addressing the special needs of HSPs. I am also a rock climber and integrate lesson from this experience including facing fears, practicing mindfulness, engaging in problem solving, and cultivating humility. I use IFS, EMDR, DBT/ACT, and attachment-based approaches to help build skills to feel better in the moment and help it stay that way.
