Are you feeling stuck? We all go through difficult times in life and no one should have to face them alone. You might be experiencing anxiety, depression, addiction, trauma, grief, or relationship issues. I can help you figure out what needs to change and how to get there while providing genuine warmth and empathy. Life's most profound challenges and discomforts, when transformed, can lead to resiliency and a deep gladness we would otherwise never have known. I work from a person-centered lens, meeting clients where they are, working at your pace to meet specific goals, whether it be a focus on solutions, coping skills, or open exploration. Above all I strive to help you accept, manage, and express thoughts and feelings in a healthy way that that improves your overall health and relationships. My goal is to help you identify your strengths as well as growth opportunities while fostering an atmosphere of collaboration and hope. It’s important to know that there are ups and downs to the therapeutic process because we are discussing sensitive topics, but if we are both open and honest, transformation will come. I look forward to working with you!

My passion is to help people who have experienced any type of trauma; such as divorce, grief and loss, PTSD, and adults survivors who grew up with domestic violence. I also work with people who are suffering from sexual abuse, obsessive-compulsive disorder, anxiety or depression . My specialty is helping children and adults recover from childhood domestic violence. Many of my clients have grown up in homes where they witnessed domestic violence. I help them understand that what they've experienced is not their fault and they are not alone. By discovering their true potential in the work we do together, they are able to break the cycle of abuse. Along with decades of working with clients, I've spent 18 years as a childhood domestic violence advocate. I use a combination of evidence-based treatments, including a mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) treatment approach, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), Imago Relationship Therapy and exposure response prevention (ERP) My own experience of growing up with childhood domestic violence (CDV) inspired me to dedicate my life to helping children and adult survivors overcome the effects of CDV and I will help you build the skills to reach your full potential.

My professional beliefs are based in theory that believes all people want to feel significant, connected and capable and therefore all behavior has a purpose. Patterns and themes develop in people’s lives often discouraging them and at times can inhibit growth and or decrease abilities to function effectively. Many times our patterns and themes can be traced back several generations. I spend the first several sessions getting to know you, your family history and exploring current significant relationships. From these sessions, we will jointly agree to the goals of treatment. I have had extensive training in the areas of couple, family and adolescent therapy all with a range of presenting issues. Common treatment issues include but are not limited to areas sexual incompatibilities, poor communication, and insufficient trust, infidelity, working with teens on developmental issues and parental challenges. I completed an intensive three year post graduate Residency in Marriage and Family Therapy with excellent supervision from well-regarded family therapists.
