Are you feeling stuck? We all go through difficult times in life and no one should have to face them alone. You might be experiencing anxiety, depression, addiction, trauma, grief, or relationship issues. I can help you figure out what needs to change and how to get there while providing genuine warmth and empathy. Life's most profound challenges and discomforts, when transformed, can lead to resiliency and a deep gladness we would otherwise never have known. I work from a person-centered lens, meeting clients where they are, working at your pace to meet specific goals, whether it be a focus on solutions, coping skills, or open exploration. Above all I strive to help you accept, manage, and express thoughts and feelings in a healthy way that that improves your overall health and relationships. My goal is to help you identify your strengths as well as growth opportunities while fostering an atmosphere of collaboration and hope. It’s important to know that there are ups and downs to the therapeutic process because we are discussing sensitive topics, but if we are both open and honest, transformation will come. I look forward to working with you!

So much of our life we have spent doing and becoming who we thought we should be all while avoiding ourselves. We fill to feel worthy and loved. We may fill with work, caretaking or food, just a few of the ways our body has learned how to adapt. We are exhausted and often stuck even though we don't stop moving. Slowing down is probably the hardest thing you do all day, I know because it is for me as well. In my sessions, I integrate somatic philosophies along with parts work and equine assisted therapy to slow down and sink to our bodies. For many of us just the thought of sitting with our bodies is scary so it's a gentle process of curiosity and rooting. Rooting into your truth, your body, your life. I hope we can journey together. This space is for you to be messy, make mistakes and most importantly get curious.

My ideal clients are millennial individuals who find themselves struggling to get what they need out of relationships with others. Whether that relationship is with a parent, peer or significant other, their goals are to set new boundaries, develop healthier habits and learn effective communication and conflict resolution skills in order to verbalize and ultimately have their needs met within the relationship. My ideal clients are also individuals/couples struggling with issues surrounding sexuality. I am pleased to work with cisgender and LGBTQ+ identifying, and those identifying with or looking to explore alt relationship styles. I specialize in individual, relationship and sex therapy. My passion lies within promoting healthy longevity in relationships, millennial sexual literacy, and the understanding and acceptance of ourselves as sexual beings. Through an integrated, yet primarily CBT approach, I assist clients with bettering themselves for themselves and for their relationships. As we evolve, it’s often difficult to find common ground where relationships with others are concerned. We even sometimes find it difficult to foster healthy relationships with ourselves. Whether it‘s managing stress, a break up, or a shift in self-esteem, therapy is a vehicle to get you through life’s challenges and I look forward to our journey together.

I taught middle and high school for 14 years before becoming a counselor. These experiences shaped the way I think and work with my clients. I would be happy to sit with anyone from any walk of life, but my work has often focused on young people and their families in conflict or crisis. Many of my clients are high schoolers struggling with school and relationships, or parents who just can't seem to connect to their child whom they love so much. I work with college-age people who are struggling with purpose and direction, and couples who can't seem to find the path back to each other. I've found that most of my clients need a partner to walk alongside them as they find solutions to the problems they've encountered. I'd love to work with you to find a path toward truth and peace. I will not judge you or be disappointed in you. I'm kind, warm, and honest. We'll look at the story you've written so far and find your next chapter. I know how difficult it is to be a student, parent, spouse, or person in 2022. Seeking help shows great courage and strength. I'm really glad you're here. Give me a call or shoot me an email and we'll get started together.

My passion is to help people who have experienced any type of trauma; such as divorce, grief and loss, PTSD, and adults survivors who grew up with domestic violence. I also work with people who are suffering from sexual abuse, obsessive-compulsive disorder, anxiety or depression . My specialty is helping children and adults recover from childhood domestic violence. Many of my clients have grown up in homes where they witnessed domestic violence. I help them understand that what they've experienced is not their fault and they are not alone. By discovering their true potential in the work we do together, they are able to break the cycle of abuse. Along with decades of working with clients, I've spent 18 years as a childhood domestic violence advocate. I use a combination of evidence-based treatments, including a mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) treatment approach, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), Imago Relationship Therapy and exposure response prevention (ERP) My own experience of growing up with childhood domestic violence (CDV) inspired me to dedicate my life to helping children and adult survivors overcome the effects of CDV and I will help you build the skills to reach your full potential.
