I am a social worker who specializes in couples and sexual-related issues. I do a lot of work with couples around infidelity, trust and sexual issues. I spend much time helping couples overcome the aftermath of affairs and help lead them to a better relationship than they previously had. I also work with individuals with problems like depression, anxiety and loss. I do my sessions exclusively by video and phone and have done teletherapy for about five years. My style is very casual and thoughtful. And I have become very adept at doing teletherapy. I find that most of my clients prefer this format. In couples work, I teach that communication is different for men and women. I help couples and individuals with sexual issues like lack of desire, performance anxiety, dysfunction, coming out issues and relationship types (consensual nonmonogamy and monogamy) and navigating these. I am looking forward to hearing from you. I know that sexual and relationship issues can be difficult to discuss, but with my style I think you'll feel quite comfortable talking with me. You will find reaching out for the initial conversation with me that I am not judgemental in the least and that you will feel at ease speaking with me.

EMAIL is best Contact - Status 10/16/23 - closed to new clients- My clinical practice is dedicated to those OCD and PTSD+OCD. These conditions can make the world feel super scary. Trying to have control over the scenarios of danger your mind and body are holding can be exhausting. You don't have to be alone in that journey. I firmly believe in evidence-based treatments for both conditions and continue to learn new approaches. I believe the more tools i have to help you, the better we can accomplish the goal of helping you heal. PTSD/trauma: I am an EMDRIA certified EMDR Therapist & Consultant-in-Training. I also use ego-state work and Written Exposure Therapy. OCD: I use Inference-Based CBT which does not need exposures. I'm also a certified ExRP (ERP) therapist through the world-renowned Center for Treatment & Study of Anxiety at UPenn. Engaging in therapy is an investment in yourself. Not every therapist is the right fit for every client. I'll refer you to someone who I think is more suited to your needs if we find we don't click. Thank you for your interest in my services. In 2018, I decided to limit my scope of practice to custody/parenting time evaluations and other domestic forensic evaluations, reunification therapy, and co-parenting coaching. At this time, due to the volume of demand for evaluations, I am not taking new reunification or co-parent coaching clients. When that changes, I will immediately announce that here and on my website (https://parentingguidanceservices.com. PRACTICE NOW LIMITED TO CURRENT AND FORMER CLIENTS. I have been in private practice since 1984 focusing on children, adolescents, adults, and families within the tenets of the Judeo-Christian tradition. I have specialized in bonding and attachment issues with foster and adopted children as well as children from divorced parents. My chosen theoretical orientation is that of a psychodynamic/existential approach within a spiritually based framework. This approach assumes the belief that each individual has been endowed with "free will" and is able to guide and direct his or her own destiny within the parameters of the talents and opportunities that have been bestowed. Former or current clients are welcome to contact me directly via phone, text, or email to discuss how, and if, I may be of assistance to them.

My passion is helping clients discover skills to manage anxiety, challenge thought traps, question negative thinking patterns, explore self-identity, and reduce depressive states through processing emotions, mindfulness, understanding the nervous system, and implementing healthy coping skills. If feeling frustrated in the past/present/future worries, we can explore EMDR together to allow the brain to heal naturally. We can create goals, big or small, to uncover strengths and reduce feelings of being stuck. I also like to bring breathwork, grounding techniques, and tapping into sessions to build a sense of calm and create peace. I am certified in Trauma Focused CBT, DBT, and Trauma Informed Yoga. I use an empathetic strength based approach with foundations in CBT, EMDR, MI, and Polyvagal theory. I can assist in learning how to express emotions, communicate, practice self-regulation, and learn to make changes. I bring a sense of connection into therapy with a kind, down-to-Earth, and empathetic approach to help you feel understood and listened to. I will also offer input or challenges to help reframe unhelpful thought patterns when needed.

Raising children is the hardest and most rewarding job you will ever have. When a child has experienced trauma, transition or is struggling with another concern, it is even more difficult. I work with children and their families to help them integrate their unique experiences in the world. There is hope, help and support for children who are struggling with; trauma, grief/loss, transitions, ADHD, anxiety, defiance, depression, and worry. I believe in the power of play and the ability of children and families to grow towards health and healing. I work in a child's first language of play. By focusing on the strengths of the child and family we are able to work through the struggles. The child's relationship with their family is the building blocks to how they view and interact with the world. I am comfortable working with young children and their families. I have extensive experience working with children who have experienced trauma and loss. I am integrative in my approach with working with families as everyone is unique.

I have been providing therapy for nearly 10 years. I work with adults and adolescents 16 and up who are struggling with relationships, anxiety and/or depression. If you feel stuck in an endless cycle of negativity with your spouse, your child or someone else in your life, therapy is a great way to explore underlying issues, get help with communication and rebuild relationships on a stronger foundation. I work with individuals, couples and families who are coping with life transitions and communication issues. Due to the nature of my education, I have learned to see any particular problem presented to me in therapy from a relational perspective and am able to help you address issues that are interconnected. Ultimately, this creates a longer lasting change in your life and in the lives of others. I work in a professional yet casual way, making people feel comfortable and heard. I take a unique approach with each client and work from an integrative perspective; meaning I pull techniques from many different styles of evidence-based therapy.
