Welcome to Firm Foundations Counseling Inc. I am so glad you stopped by to learn a bit more about me. I was born and raised in Nebraska. I moved to Kansas in 2013 after marrying and have loved being here since. I love spending time with my husband and the rest of my family and friends who mean the world to me. I am fortunate to come from a large family, whom I wouldn’t trade for the world. I have first-hand experience and understanding related to a person’s “family of origin” dynamics, strengths, and challenges. I am passionate and dedicated to the mental health career field and truly believe it "chose me". I graduated from Bellevue University in Bellevue, NE, with a Master's Degree in Human Services-Clinical Counseling and a Master's Degree in Advanced Clinical Counseling. I have completed extensive education and training in addictions evaluation and counseling. I completed my clinical internships at local agencies working with mental/behavioral health and addiction disorders. I received extensive training and outstanding mentoring in all levels of care, including residential, inpatient, outpatient, and aftercare counseling services. I have a wide range of skills and interests, including, co-occurring disorders assessments and therapeutic interventions. A few of my specialties include couples and family therapy, anxiety disorders, trauma-related disorders, severe and persistent mental health conditions, male and female-specific challenges, LGBT, and personality disorders. I have been educated in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I’ve been fortunate to have worked with children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric clients. I specialize in all mental/behavioral health disorders, substance abuse/addictions disorders, and relationship issues. My number one priority is on the client because each client deserves to be treated with the highest level of dignity, respect, and effective care/treatment.
