BaMidbar is a Jewish organization providing therapy to clients of any background regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, sexuality etc. We provide a safe, healing environment where you can feel heard, supported, empowered, and understood. It’s a space for growing, transforming, and making meaning of your life. We work primarily with teens and young adults experiencing challenges with stress, anxiety, depression, transition, grief or family conflict. View 4 Photos At BaMidbar, we offer adventure therapy which is the intentional use of adventure experiences to bring the therapy process to life! We believe in the value of learning from our experiences and sometimes the best way to do that is with your therapist by your side helping to make sense of what is happening in the moment. While "adventure" may sound intimidating to some, we always start from a place of choice and buy in. Therapy is your adventure and we want it to be something you feel connected with. For some of our clients, adventure may be a walk in the park, for others, adventure may mean playing games in our office - it's up to you. In addition to an experiential approach to our work, we also are happy to integrate elements of Judaism into your treatment if that is something that you feel connected to. We believe Judaism has a lot to teach us about wellness; however, your therapist will check in with you first to see what your preferences are. It can feel lonely to be struggling in our world. It can feel overwhelming to be picking a therapist or even deciding if therapy is right for you. Many of our clients anticipate therapy being really hard, and find themselves surprised at how enjoyable the process can be when they feel connected to a therapist that understands them, engaging in activities that are actually fun, and making connections that they can easily bring with them throughout the week. They make progress - it works. If you find yourself overwhelmed, stressed or anxious about the possibility of starting therapy or finding a therapist that will understand your experience, let's connect. We're ready to get you engaged and healing.

In a grief-averse society that says to "get over" or "move on" from the death of a loved one, in a medical system that pathologizes bereavement as a disorder as early as one year after someone's death, in social circles that force toxic positivity, platitudes, and unsolicited advice on grieving folks, I long to offer a different presence. I come alongside traumatically bereaved children and families to offer meaningful and non-judgmental support in the wake of an unexpected or violent death, or after a prolonged illness. Death and trauma generate complex grief responses that deserve to be heard, honored, explored, and integrated. I hold a Graduate Certificate in Trauma Studies from Lesley University and a certification for Compassionate Bereavement Care offered by the Center for Loss and Trauma in partnership with the MISS Foundation and the Elisabeth Kubler-Ross Family Trust to be able to support those experiencing the effects of traumatic grief due to the death of a loved one. Through the use of expressive therapies and play therapy, I aim to build a relationship where youth feel comfortable being exactly who they are and where all of the parts of themselves can come forward, knowing they will be met with compassion, curiosity, and care. I support caregivers in evaluating their own needs as well as exploring family functioning.

I am eager to work with individuals from all demographics. I am especially excited to work with college-aged individuals, individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, relationship issues, body dysmorphia, LGBTQI+ issues, and/or women's issues. These individuals want a safe and validating environment to understand their current issues, how they may have manifested over time, and want to move forward towards healing, peace, and acceptance. I can help by supplying a safe, non-judgmental, validating environment with curiosity and warmth. I am equipped to offer different treatment modalities including Person-Centered Therapy, CBT, DBT, nCBT, ACT, FBT, Feminist Therapy, Attachment-Based Therapy, and Strength Based Therapy. I am so excited you are interested in therapy. It is a huge step to consider and I'm honored you would consider me to be your therapist. I hope to be the best support I can be as I walk alongside you during this part of your journey. Above all, I hope to empower you to learn more about yourself and how you want to move forward.

Congratulations! If you're reading this, that means you're taking the first step to healing and improving your well-being. Getting started can be the hardest part and I'm proud of your courage and willingness. Have you been feeling down and unmotivated? Or maybe your life is moving too fast? Perhaps you're worried and scared about what lies ahead or can't stop thinking about what has already happened. Maybe you just need to talk. Whatever the reason - I am here to listen and help. Not your mother's therapist! Or maybe I am, but I have a different approach to healing than the therapy you see in the movies. Each person is unique and I approach everyone based on their needs. We can talk about your life and dismantle beliefs that may not be serving you. We can work to process the anxiety, depression, or trauma and release it through body-based mindfulness and relaxation. We can explore peaceful acceptance instead of being controlled by the need to change. Even if we don't end up working together, I am glad you have made it this far in your mental health journey. If you're interested in chatting with me, do not hesitate to reach out. I specialize in working with adolescents and adults experiencing depression, anxiety, and trauma, but I would be happy to speak with anyone that is interested.

I am a licensed clinical social worker with a certification in mental health counseling from Simmons University. I have been working as a therapist for one year, and can work with child, adolescent, and adult clients. I hope to work with clients with a wide range of presenting issues, from those who are looking simply for a place to vent their frustrations and find solutions for daily life, to those who are experiencing more significant diagnoses, such as major depression and bipolar disorder. I believe every patient requires a unique approach. The core of my practice is a belief in the worth, dignity, and self-efficacy of every client, no matter what they bring with them. Whatever you are going through, it can be helpful to have someone on your side. We will work collaboratively, as a team, to find the things which help you heal, change, and thrive.
