It’s not natural to live in a perpetual state of discontent and anxiety. Yet, this seems to be your experience lately. Your life feels incompatible with the way you dream about feeling in your wildest heart. Many days are spent going through the motions, bobbing along the surface hoping you don’t get pulled under. On these days you wonder if your vision of the life you’ve dreamed is merely a mirage in the desert…but you don’t believe so- something tells you there’s more. You have found success by many standards, yet you feel blocked from accessing more joy, ease, contentment, and embodiment of the things you picture yourself to be. I offer a unique combination of methods and modalities to help you access your full potential and FEEL better. My toolkit as your guide includes Somatic Experiencing, Equine Assisted therapy and coaching, nature informed therapy, attachment and relational healing, mindfulness, and parts work (IFS). In our work together, my hope is to empower you to heal patterns in that hold you back from the relationships you desire and the purpose filled life you've imagined from yourself. Together we will honor and heal what keeps you stuck, and expand your ability to feel joy, purpose, connection, and presence. I look forward to speaking with you!

I see therapy not just as a form of a treatment but also as a gift we give to ourselves. Through therapy, we explore our thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and our relationship with others, including work and society. These explorations can be done alone but is more effective with a therapist, who can see patterns, themes, options, and solutions that we often overlook ourselves. Your relationship with me is a safe space to explore, to understand, to connect, and ultimately, to heal. I work with clients who are grieving and clients with depression or anxiety symptoms. I listen with compassion and without judgement. Together, we will explore your thoughts and emotions using evidence based therapeutic methods. I work with client to identify problem areas and to practice client-specific coping skills. I work with adult clients (age 18+) from all ethnic background and from the LGBTQ+ and poly community. I am committed to provide culturally sensitive therapy to BIPOC clients. I see clients on Thursdays (with evening hours), Fridays, and Saturday mornings (please email for current availability).

NEW Men's Group starting in 2024, see below.... The goal of therapy isn’t to ‘feel better’, although that should be one of the outcomes. The suffering we experience is rarely a defective malfunctioning of the brain- it is in response to real challenges and is an important way to prepare ourselves for a developmental leap. When we are suffering, our brains release hormones that promote ‘neuroplasticity’, our minds begin to reexamine outdated narratives, and our relationships are challenged with the need for deeper vulnerability. I see my primary task as offering courage, perspective, and insight in the face of suffering, helping you discover what unique outcomes exist on the other side of the pain. While I have a lot of experience with grief and trauma, depression and anxiety, I don't specialize in disorders or treatment approaches, I specialize in people. Having studied everything from ancient philosophy to the latest neuroscience, I still know that good therapy is always a joint learning process and am always surprised by how much I learn when I forget what I know. If you're interested in finding out what lies beyond the place you feel stuck in, I'd be honored to accompany you through.

Has the COVID pandemic exacerbated anxiety and obsessive thinking about health issues? The world is ready to reopen but maybe you aren’t quite there yet (and that’s okay!) and don’t know how to navigate it. Or, are you a young adult experiencing anxiety, depression, and/or OCD? Life after high school, during college, and after college can be stressful and high pressure, as are the huge decisions that come with it. I call these “life transitions” and they can often exacerbate mood symptoms and open up old wounds. Or, perhaps you'll stare directly in the sun but never in the mirror and you're ready to make a change :) My therapeutic approach is non-judgemental, validating, and working with you to identify your goals and helping you get to where you need to be. I am also well versed in working with folks with chronic illnesses, impaired executive functioning, Women’s issues, and am LGBTQIA affirming and friendly. The world is changing fast and it can be hard to keep up and figure out where you fit in. Please know you aren't alone. Feel free to reach out to schedule a 15 minute phone call to see if we could be a fit. Take care!

Spill the tea! It can be difficult to discuss what is truly going on in your head. It may seem like you’ve tried everything, but nothing seems to work, at least not for very long. It can be scary to reach out to a counselor because you are not sure that you can find someone that you can really connect with and help you make changes in your life. My focus is on teens, emerging adults, and adults, who struggle with anxiety, depression, interpersonal issues, and difficult life transitions. I am intensively trained in DBT and use an eclectic approach. Together, we’ll create a customized plan to get you back on track.

Whether you are looking for a space to unload and process, find new ways to navigate life, set and reach new goals (or recommit to previous ones), explore your identity, work through stress and trauma, improve your relationships, boundaries, and communication (including with yourself), or are finally ready to honor all the parts of you (and let go of those burdens which are not yours to carry), I am here to support you in the process. I hope to challenge you to uncover and project your authentic and dynamic potential, while acknowledging the harmful impacts of oppressive systems and celebrating your growth along the way. As a first gen, non-binary, neurodivergent queer person I know the struggle of finding providers who understand the intersectionality of my lived experience. As an identity affirming therapist, I will foster a warm and empathetic space for our work together. I trust you as the expert of your own life and will always bring my authentic self into session. Setting aside time to unpack your stuff and work towards your ideals of growth is a perfect way to show yourself some well deserved love and care. Yes, there may be some discomfort; yes, I will stand alongside you; and yes it is worth it. Mahmoud Darwish says, "The gold in you does not rust." Let's dig deep together and let the gold within you light the way.

Whether you are working through a traumatic event or navigating through daily or periodic anxiety and depression, it takes an enormous amount of strength and courage to reach out for help and engage in the therapy process. I have a huge amount of respect for those who take this step, and feel privileged to be a part of whatever path you choose throughout your personal journey. I offer appointments Tuesday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m I provide individual and couples therapy, seeing adolescents and adults using verbal and non-verbal strategies. My specialties include anxiety, depression, and trauma-related issues and am experienced in grief and loss, ADHD, life transition issues and family system stressors. I have specific training using Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. My personal philosophy is that the personality fit is just as important as clinical experience is. I believe that the therapeutic partnership is essential for success, and tailor sessions to best fit what is needed at that time. Therapy is a fluid process; having this principle as the foundation is essential for healing.
