Getting through high school, dealing with family and friends and "real life", can make you feel stuck and sometimes hopeless. Lots of teens and new adults do not know what to do when their mental health isn’t great or how to handle life and emotions day-to-day. AND this is a time when life gets harder, you are expected to “grow up”, and when mental health issues like anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder can show up in a big way. Turning to family may not have always been a great place to get support, and many teens and young adults want a safe person, and a safe place, to talk about their lives and emotions. I am a social worker with over fourteen years of experience helping teens and their families. I am skilled in working with clients one-on-one with mental health issues (anxiety, depression, self-esteem, mood disorders) common in adolescence, with a specialty in trauma and relationships. Most of the time my work with teens involves talking, trying out new skills to see what feels right, and taking a new look at someone’s sense of self now that they are growing up. Whether you’ve tried therapy before, are thinking about trying therapy for the first time, or someone else thinks therapy could help, you can contact me here to find out more.
