Are you struggling with your mood, anxiety, or your relationships? Do you consider yourself to be a perfectionist or want to improve your self-esteem? Have you engaged in therapy and felt stuck or unsure of what was preventing you from reaching your goals? I approach therapy as directive and integrative, viewing your past as contributing to your current experiences, while addressing the current impact this is having within your life. I also provide psychological testing which offers a closer look at your struggles, relational challenges, diagnostic clarification, and personalized treatment recommendations. ADHD and learning disorder testing is available for individuals who are least 7 years of age. A thorough assessment of attention or academic-related symptoms offers an explanation of one's behavior, academic performance, and emotional functioning. Testing helps clarify not only why you may be struggling but also provides ways to address these concerns. Considering engaging in therapy or completing testing is a courageous choice. Please reach out to schedule a free consultation to learn more about how therapy or testing may be helpful to you. As I am often in an appointment, the best way to reach me is through email or by submitting a contact form on my website, www.twinportspsychology.com.

We each have unique experiences, personal strengths and challenges that shape how we move throughout the world. Whether recognized or not by others, those of us who live them know the truth; our experiences as racial, sexual, gender or ethnic minorities impact many aspects of our existence. Similarly, individuals who live with seen and unseen disabilities, as well as personal trauma, utilize quiet resilience to cope with challenges that remain invisible to others. Sometimes practical problem -solving contributes to change. Other times, the realities of life cannot be altered, they must be walked through courageously and presently. I bring significant experience supporting teens with special needs and learning differences. I enjoy partnering with young people to brave through the developmental challenges of their teenage and young adulthood years. Additionally, my work in educational equity has contributed to a passion for providing a safe space in therapy for people of color. Whatever your daily challenges, silent struggles and unseen battles, I am committed to walking with you through life's journey. I am honored and humbled by the opportunity to assist you as you become your best self. Although my focus is on supporting POC in therapy, I am thrilled to welcome anyone ready to take their first courageous steps towards change.

I offer my clients a compassionate, creative, and collaborative approach in their healing work. I use psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, and integrative therapies encouraging my clients to find meaning in their life's journey and struggles as well as find new ways to care for the self. Although I am a generalist when it comes to working with a variety of diverse clients and issues, I also believe strongly in the mind/body connection and help my clients find ways to reconnect and find balance in their lives. This is especially helpful when dealing with grief, relationship issues, life transitions, or trauma. I do have a focus on treating people who have experienced trauma in their lives, either as a child or adult. This includes emotional, physical, or sexual abuse. In working with couples, I assist in identifying core patterns which are unhealthy or destructive. I teach healthier ways of relating, including learning how to communicate effectively. As a psychologist, my main modality of treatment is through talk therapy. However, with clients who have an interest, I often use other expressive modalities. Some of those include the use of art, writing, mind/body awareness, mindfulness meditation, guided imagery, or music. I am the owner and clinical director of this small group practice.

I use an integrative, individualized approach with clients because I believe therapy is a journey based on trust, and should be a space that honors clients knowledge and personal needs. Therapy is more than just a place to vent, and I strive to help people create forward movement. My style is warm, candid, and when appropriate, fairly humorous. My own journey as a daughter, partner, and mother to a 15 and 10 year old informs my work deeply. I work hard to create a space where clients feel free of judgment, while still gently challenging people to do things that may be uncomfortable. My main specializations are in reproductive mental health (perinatal, postpartum, loss, and infertility), queer family systems, and adults with ADHD. Using a relational lens is critical to my work, whether it's with individuals or families. We are deeply impacted by the relationships in our past and present lives. I use a lot of attachment theory in my work, and have special interest in helping people who may struggle to be vulnerable or may feel marginalized by their communities. I try to make the therapy process feel a little less scary and intimidating, and work with clients to help build the lives they seek and deserve.

Therapy is a process that works to resolve unhealthy or problematic thoughts, beliefs, behaviors, relational patterns, and/or emotions. It is a process that starts by gathering information and dives into understanding the different pieces of your story and how they work together. The pieces, or themes and events, of your story, the characters encountered, the obstacles faced, and the meaning(s) made from experiences play a role in how you understand self and self in relation to others. It's my privilege to come along side you on your journey and to help sort out those pieces. Through my education and experience, I provide an outside perspective to challenge, encourage, and help you grow into the most healthy and authentic version of you. I use a variety of therapy models to best fit the individual needs and goals. For clients who share a value on faith, I especially love integrating faith and spirituality into therapy sessions. I'd love to hear the pieces of your story and help you begin to process their meaning in your life. Taking time to work on yourself is one of the least selfish things that you can do as it helps you to create and be in healthier relationships with those around you.

I'm not taking new clients at this time. I provide individual and couples therapy for people wanting to improve mental, emotional, relational, and/or spiritual health. I treat: anxiety; depression; relational issues; self-esteem issues; abuse/trauma/PTSD; coping for stress and/or chronic pain/illness; lack of meaning or purpose in life. If you are experiencing low mood, stress/panic, hopelessness, bothersome thoughts and feelings about a traumatic event, feel you are in a relationship with a significant other or family member where negative patterns have taken hold, or you feel you are not living to your full potential, I can help. I specialize in 1) Mindfulness practices that treat the whole person - mind, body, & spirit 2) Trauma & dissociation where I use Brainspotting, EMDR and other trauma recovery methods. The goal in these approaches is to help a client reconnect to their full self, tapping inner strengths and wisdom that lead to healing, peace, and reawakened purpose. It is frustrating to feel stuck in a routine or behavior that you know isn't working. You can heal and release the past so that something new - something that works and feels right can unfold. These therapies help to reconnect mind, body, and spirit, waking up innate healing that has you more able to both enjoy the moment and face challenges.

NOT Accepting New Clients/Waitlist Clients at this Time: I will bring curiosity, humor, honesty, and genuine empathy to any person, couple, or family who want to create something different in their life. I am a relational/systemic therapist, which means I believe people are influenced and shaped by the world, and culture(s), around them. I approach this work from a social justice lens, and love working with people who are ready to address the many variables that impact their feelings, patterns, and responses. I specialize in serving individuals, couples, and families with struggles complicated by trauma, challenging upbringings, and/or chemical use issues. I’m a nerd/weirdo who enjoys working with folx who may also feel, or have felt, like they don’t fit into the world around them. I use lots of analogies that can make the therapy process easier to understand. I try to bring humanity to the therapy process. I believe there are no taboo topics. I don’t shy away from hard conversations, and I welcome ALL the feelings. I pride myself on bringing curiosity, humor, honesty (and probably a few four-letter words) to sessions. I will offer my deep enthusiasm and care to anyone looking to make a change in their life.

My clients are teens and adults who experience challenges with healing from difficult and stressful experiences, navigating family and relationship dynamics, setting boundaries and communication with others, overthinking, keeping up with high expectations, and navigating oppressive systems. Many of my clients are individuals with historically marginalized identities and experiences, such as Asian and Asian Americans, women of color, and LGBTQIA+ women of color – who may experience intergenerational family traumas, historical traumas, cultural issues, etc. My practice is a collaborative process where you can be your authentic self in a trusting, respectful space. I value trauma-informed, client-centered, and culturally-responsive approaches that allow me to meet you where you’re at in your journey. I strive to honor your needs, identities, and experiences to tailor therapy in a way that best fits you. Starting therapy and finding a therapist may feel intimidating, frustrating, or confusing. I am happy to answer any questions you have, whether this is your first time pursuing therapy or your second+! I am a licensed psychologist with advanced training in sex therapy and gender health. I specialize in compulsive sexual behavior (or "sex addiction"). Many people have concerns about their sexual health, relationships, and mental health. These concerns often impact people’s emotions, work, pleasure, and overall wellbeing. In treatment, I build collaborative, supportive therapeutic relationships and use evidence-based, affirming, and sex-positive interventions. I am passionate about supporting people to live authentically, enhance their relationships, and enrich their wellbeing. I am fortunate to work with a great team of sexual and gender health experts. We help with a range of sexual and gender health needs. I personally have availability for concerns about compulsive sexual behavior (CSB). For CSB, we recommend combined group, individual, and partners (if applicable) therapy with me or one of my colleagues. While I (or my colleagues) have availability for CSB issues, we also help with a range of sexual and gender health needs. I know asking for support is an important step in your care that can often feel vulnerable. I aim to nurture, validate, and encourage you and changes you hope to make. I look forward to exploring your goals and helping plan your care.

I work with people from adolescents to older adults. I have experience working with issues such as: depression, anxiety, self-esteem, eating disorders, life stress, parenting, and marital issues. I think the relationship between a therapist and their client is the biggest indicator of success, therefore, I focus on building a strong rapport with my clients, making sure the client knows they are supported and validated. I am here to walk this journey with you, to be a guide and a support. This is your therapy, and so my focus is on what you need and want and not my agenda. I hope that you will feel heard and respected. I use a variety of techniques including Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Client Centered Therapy, Accelerated Resolution Therapy, and Post Induction Therapy for trauma and relationship issues. The premise of Post Induction Therapy is that childhood trauma (defined as anything less than nurturing) is the origin of developmental immaturity. I am very passionate about what I do. I have been trained for the past few years on a specific practice that is very helpful for adults that are struggling in their relationships with others and with themselves, to treat the effects of childhood trauma.
