My ideal client is one who is willing to work on their mental health in a positive and meaningful way. I have experience working with children, families and individuals who have been diagnosed with anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, dissociative identity disorder, adoption issues, attachment issues, oppositional defiant disorder, ADHD and Autism. I also have extensive knowledge in high-conflict parenting dynamics and frequently consult with mediators or Parenting Consultants to assist in my client's progress. I am also a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner for individuals struggling with emotional regulation and trauma. I have a passion for working with people who have experienced trauma. My model of working with individuals with trauma is a somatic approach, you can learn more at http://traumahealing.org. In addition, I bring my miniature schnauzer, Maverick, to the office if that is something you are interested in. In my practice, I work with adults, teens and children. At Parasol Wellness Collaborative, I have a room that has an area for play and a couch and chair for talk or somatic therapy work. I use many modalities and am very client centered - I never push my agenda on clients but invite them to create their own goals and a means of achieving them.

I believe it requires a great deal of courage to seek change through therapy, and am honored to be a part of this journey with my clients. I evaluate each client and their specific situation from a holistic perspective, and consider my approach to therapy to be patient-centered, trauma-informed, and relationally-oriented. I have particular interest in treating those with eating disorders, eating behavior challenges, and/or concerns related to trauma/complex trauma. I incorporate a variety of therapeutic modalities within treatment planning for each patient I partner with. My work is specifically informed by attachment theory and the field of interpersonal neurobiology, which describes human functioning as a product of the relationship between the body, mind and relationships. I am specifically trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR), as well as the Adaptive Internal Relational Network (AIR Network) model of therapy. My practice includes work with individuals and groups.

I work with adults and adolescents struggling with mood, anxiety, relationship issues, and major life transitions. I understand that pain has a way of separating us from ourselves and others, and I believe that we heal best within relationships. For that reason, I value the therapeutic relationship and strive to create a space where clients can feel truly understood. I offer all clients unconditional positive regard, and firmly believe that even in the most difficult times, all people are doing the best they can with the tools they have. I have specialized training in The Adaptive Internal Relational (AIR) Network Model, a neuroscience-based trauma training to address the ways that past stress impacts our current experience of ourselves. I also utilize CBT and solutions-focused approaches to support clients in setting their own goals and effectively working towards measurable relief. Sometimes taking the first step can be the hardest part. I hold deep respect and hopefulness for aIl of you as you consider starting or returning to therapy. If you choose to reach out, I will provide a compassionate space for you to explore your needs and address your pain so that you can begin enjoying life.
