Out of network provider for all insurances You're tired. You have to carry BIG emotions all the damn time with no outlet to let them out. You cry when you’re alone, but put on a smile so the world can’t see you're hurting on the inside. There is no time to slow down because slowing down makes the inner critic grow louder about how awful you are. Perhaps you get some release through disordered eating, but ultimately, that voice comes right back again. The inner critic makes it hard for you to accept yourself and love your flaws. It makes it hard for you to live your life intentionally, with confidence in yourself to use your voice. Everyone deserves to live a life they're excited to wake up to. Therapy helps with this. It allows you to show up and be your authentic self while healing that inner critic who causes guilt and shame. You don't have to save face. The journey may be tough. However, taking a step allows you to get closer to the resiliency you seek and break the cycle. If anything above resonates with you, I see you. I've been in your shoes. I look forward to helping you become the best version of yourself. All you have to do is show up and I'll walk the beaten path with you. Just call or schedule at (www.ashleyhoseycounseling.com). I'm an OON provider but ask about superbills and other payment options.

I specialize in trauma resolution therapy: my practice focuses on resolving painful issues from the past that keep you stuck in repetitive cycles of negative behaviors. Do you ever ask your self "Why can't I just stop doing that?" or "Why do I keep attracting the same negative people in my life, over and over again?" I provide an atmosphere of safety and attuned communication where we are able to address both conscious and unconscious issues in order to uncouple traumatic events that have overwhelmed the mind and body, allowing healing to occur. Lasting change only occurs when the body wisdom is involved in the therapy process. Change is about working with biological mechanisms that underlie our emotions and feelings. I specialize in working with male survivors of abuse: (Physical, Sexual, Emotional, and Neglect), which result in unsatisfying and unfulfilling relationships, domestic violence, anger, substance abuse, sexual addictions and other compulsive behaviors. I also work with anxiety and depression, PTSD, GLBT issues and dissociative disorders. Military welcomed and honored.

There are good days, bad days, and days that are completely overwhelming. You have never thought so much about your body in your life, and now you struggle with it every day. You remember when you trusted your body. There were times when you felt ill, but you recovered before. Now, your medical team is telling you that there is no going back to how things used to be. You are angry, you are frightened, you are hurting, and your loved ones are, too. Nobody seems to know exactly what to say, or what you need. It feels like a bomb has gone off in your life, and you are sifting through the rubble. You are taking your medication, going to your appointments, trying the treatments you've been offered. And yet, you find yourself dwelling on what has happened in your life. Others treat you like a novelty because of what you've been through, or avoid you, or don't seem to notice at all. All of this feels strange. You're not sure what normal is anymore. It may feel as though you are your illness, right now - as though your medical diagnosis is what defines you. There is more to you than this. A cure may not be available, but healing is still possible. Please reach out at ginkgoleafhealth.com to learn more.

You already know yourself very well. And because of this- You are looking for a different kind of therapy space. You are seeking a space in which you can find humor, grace, and wonder while navigating this human experience. One in which your intuition, spirituality, and inner knowing will be honored and used as a tool to transform your lived experience. A space where context matters and is used to create new perspectives and deeper understanding. A space to unpack your stories, unravel your deepest beliefs, and become friends (yes… I said friends) with your inner shadowy parts. I specialize in therapy for those who want to know themselves better and dig deeper into (and change) their own limiting stories. Those who want to go on the courageous inner journey of experiencing being in connection with another while discovering their deepest self. Clients describe my presence to be grounded, connected, and REAL! (I mean, this growth shit can be messy and kind of suck- right?) My approach is integrative- emphasizing depth psychology, attachment, examining family and cultural beliefs, connecting to your spirituality, mindfulness, and psychotherapeutic reiki.

Having worked in a variety of settings, including 15 years in wilderness therapy, I've found that there is something wonderfully inviting about working together in quiet outside spaces (or utilizing teletherapy in these times of Covid-19). Optimally I help clients utilize their individual strength, values and insight to help find a more peaceful state of mind and lifestyle. As human beings we are meant to build meaningful connections, and sadly there are an overwhelming number of deterrents to building those relationships with self, others, community, etc. We can and will tackle those difficulties together. I specialize in working with adolescents, tweens, adults, couples and families. I am accustomed to working with clients struggling to find their way through issues such as depression, anxiety, attachment, loss, bereavement, substance abuse, negative body image, self-injury, behavioral struggles, relationship strain, and kids facing issues at/with school. Making the decision to prioritize yourself, or the well-being of your child, is a brave and vulnerable place to step into. My goal is to earn your trust and to help you feel supported without judgement from the first moment we connect. I'm creative, flexible, and love this work we can embark on together, at a pace you're most comfortable with.

Lets explore your life experience in a new and exciting way. I see suffering as an opportunity to break free from old patterns, habits, and ways of thinking that are not working for you anymore. View 4 Photos As a licensed clinical addiction specialist, I'll assess your issues and make recommendations of how I can help you through somatic experiencing, a body-oriented and mindfullness based approach. I also treat co-occurring mental health disorders that may be present along with a substance related issue, or help you navigate a family members addiction. It takes a village.... I regularly suggest other methods of exploration based on YOUR interests and beliefs, such as solo time in our floatation tank, massage, workshops, alanon, AA, NA, meditation retreats, prayer. Real change is possible. Successful therapy explores human life in its fullest sense - what we do, what we think, and what we feel - while being grounded in the deep experience of living in a human body. My primary therapeutic framework is called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, which provides a rich, evidence-based, blend of mindful and somatic interventions, along with a strong cognitive and behavioral orientation. Together, my clients and I examine our deepest values, and how those values are expressed in how we live each day. Our lives are not problems to be solved - they are opportunities to flourish. Do you struggle with anxiety? The good news is that with the proper treatment, real and lasting change can be achieved - often without the use of medications. There are proven methods to help turn anxiety into an ally - a resource for growth and self-discovery. I use these methods every day and I would be honored to share what I have learned with you. I treat anxiety in its many forms, such as panic attacks, OCD, loss and grief, PTSD, social anxiety, generalized anxiety, existential questions, midlife issues, adjustment disorder, and good old-fashioned stuck-ness. Again, real change is possible, I see it every day. Very often in life, the treasure is buried beneath the wound.

I love working with both adults and adolescents 13 years and up, especially folks who identify as BIPOC, queer, and trans, and individuals in non-traditional, non-monogamous relationship structures. I am LGBTQ+ affirming, gender celebratory, poly affirming, kink and BDSM affirming, and sex-work positive. My specialities are trauma work, depression, anxiety, and supporting folks who are moving through difficult transition, who are exploring their gender identity, gender expression, or sexual orientation, or who would like to get clarity on their life path. I believe in our capacity to grow and change, especially when we find ourselves in spaces that are supportive, where judgement has no place, and we can safely engage with all parts of our self. I use ACT to help clients develop psychological flexibility, and Somatic Experiencing to support a deeper connection to the healing power of our bodies.

Things can feel off and you are not sure why. Maybe noticing your teen pulling away, shut behind a closed door. Your child not smiling as much, giving one word answers when they are usually a chatterbox. You may feel irritated, everything getting on your nerves, like things are in a funk. You know that something is wrong, but are stuck on how to fix it. The disconnect can get to a point where we need some more support. Feeling unheard, unseen, or misunderstood can lead us to seek that help to reconnect to ourselves and our inner strengths. The unheard can find their voice again and use it to feel better. View 3 Photos I help the unheard reconnect with their voice. I support kids, teens, and adults in transition with managing stress, increasing self-confidence, and strengthening relationships. I use a client-focused approach that adds creative and expressive arts techniques, including Sand Tray, play-based, and narrative practices when useful. In our work together we will explore many of the things that may be holding you or your child back. A therapeutic space can be helpful to take a breath and start the work of finding healing and wholeness. Your story is worth telling. I invite you to schedule a consultation if I feel like a good fit for you or your child.

Based out of Asheville, North Carolina, I provide individual counseling and psychotherapy for adults from all walks of life. My approach is informed by modern psychoanalysis which tells us emotional and behavioral challenges often stem from wounds in our past, and they manifest in our lives through distressing symptoms and patterns of painful experience. When left unattended, these patterns will continue to surface again and again until we bring awareness to them. Narratives that were instilled in us as children are often accepted as reality without question, but now they may be counterproductive, harmful, and can interfere with a healthy adult life. Putting thoughts to words in a safe space allows these messages to come to surface where they can be metabolized and released. Counseling of this nature can help you improve self-awareness and be a catalyst for deep, sustained change- not just temporary symptom relief. Successful therapeutic work can look like an ability to embrace a wide spectrum of emotions without judgement and to more successfully manage the inherent and inevitable pain of human life.

I am devoted to working with individuals who are curious about when and how their suffering and emotional distress began. In my work, I notice that such suffering is often the result of long established patterns of thinking and acting. Such patterns were at one time essential for the individual to cope with distress but with repetition and the accumulation of life experiences, they can become destructive. The power of a therapist trained to make space for such sufferings can provide alleviation from long standing pain.
