Do you feel dissatisfied with life? Are you struggling with finding purpose? Maybe you notice that you tend to care for others before you care for yourself. You could have a hard time saying “no” or even feel guilty afterwards. These predicaments can stem from not intentionally and holistically honoring our being; mind, body, and spirit. Discipline and consistency, as values of self-care, can be incredibly difficult to implement in a world that’s fast-paced and focused on instant gratification. From racial disparities to social injustice, society forces us to adapt to inequity; how are you caring for you? Imagine releasing control of anything that does not serve you. As a holistic health practitioner, my mental health services incorporate evidence-based practices, yoga instruction (RYT-200), and/or reiki healing (Kemetic Reiki). My therapeutic approach involves mindfulness practice, movement, introspection, and self-study. I specialize in Black women issues. I am here for you. I’m here to encourage, challenge, advocate for, and meet you where you are. Let’s work together to customize and implement a plan based on your aspirations, and creatively tackle any barriers prohibiting you from experiencing optimum wellness. It is time to live for YOU, through intention, appreciation, self-compassion, and celebration!

Whatever you're feeling... remember Dr. Austin Chandler is just a phone call away. I consider every client's psychological, social, spiritual, and physical well-being. The Allied Counseling moto chosen by me is "Together we can change your world." More specifically, I work with individual clients and cooperate leaders to help them break trough hidden personal filters of negative self-belief, limiting maladaptive coping strategies, and personal blind spots so as to never place a limit on what they can achieve.

I look forward to working with clients that are motivated to make a change in themselves and dedicated to the therapeutic process. I want counseling to be a warm, accepting, and open-minded experience for my clients and it is a goal I always strive for. I believe to make lasting progress in therapy, it is important to establish a strong therapeutic relationship with the client through genuine understanding, empathy and unconditional positive regard. I have experience working with individuals presenting with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, sexuality concerns, school and life changes, and acute and chronic trauma. I approach counseling through a Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) lens. Together we will look at patterns in your thinking and how that affects how you think and act. However, I often will pull in techniques from other theories that may fit you more individually, as each person comes to this space bringing different parts of themselves and I want to honor that. Whether in person or through telehealth, I strive to create a warm, inviting, and safe space to begin your journey in counseling. Feel free to reach out to me with questions about the therapy process, a quick question about me, or to schedule a session. I look forward to meeting with you and walking alongside you on this path of healing.

Have you been avoiding fights with those close to you? Families adapting to their new lifestyle after having a kid(s), getting married, starting new relationships or even divorce, along with handling other life changes can be overwhelming. Do you feel like you're struggling to express yourself or trying not to blow up? Struggling to reconnect with yourself and each other, can be very painful, and it’s common for many couples, especially in the first few years. The goal, particularly for families who are in the prenatal/postnatal stages of childbirth is to help rediscover who they are, understanding new roles and build self confidence. We’ll work through your patterns, and I’ll help you and your partner learn new ways to reconnect with yourself and each other again! My goal is to create a supportive space where you feel both heard, understood, and challenged; while providing practical tools and insight-oriented feedback. I want to successfully help you reconnect with yourself. My approach is sincere, collaborative, and integrative. I believe something very powerful happens when a person gives themselves the space to slow down, connect, and be vulnerable. This can result in living more authentically and fully-whether life is smooth or you're surrounded by pain and suffering. I believe emotional healing is possible and desire to help facilitate clients' processes as much as possible. Together we will create and work towards positive, therapeutic goals. I'm grounded in person-centered counseling, which emphasizes empathy, authenticity, and acceptance. I also often utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, CBT, and Psychodynamic Therapy. Most of my training is with counseling women. Although I have experience with clients struggling with a variety of concerns (see right), my greatest passion is facilitating emotional healing in women with trauma. I have been trained to use EMDR (Levels 1 and 2), a therapeutic approach used to treat PTSD and related concerns. Additionally, I find it fulfilling to counsel clients from many faith perspectives as I understand this is an important part of many people's lives. I am able to offer counseling from a Christian perspective if a client so desires. Now serving the community as Central Carolina Counseling Associates, PLLC with multiple counselors on staff!
