Do you feel lonely even though you are in a committed relationship? Does it seem like you and your partner speak different languages and live different realities? Do you have the same fights over and over again and nothing ever gets resolved? These feelings can be overwhelming and scary. I want to help you begin to change your relationship so it can be a source of nurturing and support instead of a cause of stress and anxiety. I work with individuals and couples to help build connection, resolve conflicts, develop trust, and find happiness in their lives.. I help couples work through negative patterns and learn more effective ways to communicate. I also work with individuals struggling with relationships, stage of life transitions, self-esteem, and anxiety. My approach is flexible, collaborative and strengths-based, using tools to help you address life’s challenges and move forward towards your goals. I will provide a positive and non-judgmental space to explore your thoughts and feelings; a space where you find comfort and inclusivity. I would be honored to work with you as you begin your journey. If you would like to see if we are a good fit, reach out so that I can help you make the changes that you want in your relationship and your life.

Welcome! Making the decision to enter therapy can be challenging, yet fulfilling and life altering. I welcome the opportunity to work with you or your family in navigating that process. I provide a nonjudgmental, discrete, safe, compassionate environment to facilitate growth and change. Through therapy, I work with individuals to realize their full potential, understand their barriers, and gain insight. We will work together as a team to understand one's history, patterns of behavior, and significance of relationships. Each individual is unique and I am sensitive to the varying needs and strengths of my clients. With years of experience in helping adolescents, adults, and families, I have assisted clients in addressing issues ranging from trauma and grief to self- esteem and life transitions. Please feel free to contact me to schedule an appointment. I look forward to hearing from you!

I specialize in the evaluation and treatment of anxiety and related disorders using cognitive behavioral principles (CBT) with adults and teenagers. Problems treated include panic disorder, OCD, social anxiety disorder, generalized anxiety, trauma, specific phobias and depression. I frequently work with families and couples to address the impact of these difficulties on relationships, and collaborate with other treating professionals (e.g., psychiatrists, pediatricians, general physicians). My approach includes helping patients reach both insight as well as behavioral change for lasting and meaningful improvement. I have extensive training in the evaluation and treatment of anxiety disorders. I am the former director of the Anxiety Disorders Clinic at Rutgers University where I trained graduate students, presented on anxiety topics, and conducted research in the field. In addition to private practice, I supervise graduate students and train therapists in CBT

I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist specializing in bipolar disorder and their caregivers, depression and anxiety, and trauma. I also have extensive experience working with academic and work stress, relationship problems, marriage and infidelity, substance abuse, and eating and body image problems. In my work I incorporate issues of attachment and parenting, femininity/masculinity, and concerns of culture, religion and self-esteem. My approach is to offer a safe and non-judgmental environment to provide psychotherapy with empathy, support and guidance. I help people survive, get relief, gain insight, and build better lives. Although much of my thinking is considered relational-psychodynamic, I work with an integrative stance and use any relevant treatment (CBT, mindfulness, etc). I am currently offering both remote and in person sessions. I have two locations, New York City near Chelsea/Penn Station, and Chatham, NJ. If you think we might be a good match, give me a call and I would be glad to discuss setting up an initial session.
