I view counseling as an opportunity to come alongside my clients and partner with them as they journey toward discovering a life of meaning and purpose. Through empathy, humor, and warmth, I aim to create and hold a safe space for my clients to begin the journey inward. My biggest joy is walking alongside my clients as they begin to realize their strength and resilience to find solutions to the issues they are facing. I have a special passion for working with and encouraging people experiencing depression, anxiety, loss, grief and suicidal ideation in a way that helps them feel that they are not alone in this struggle and that there is hope. I primarily utilize a Solution Focused therapy approach along with elements of CBT and Meaning Therapy. When not working, I can be found trail running, spending time with family and friends and participating in my church community.

There is a reason why the safety protocols on airplanes instruct us to put the oxygen mask on ourselves first in case of an emergency. We can not care for others if we don’t focus on our own needs, even with the very limited time most of us have daily. Yet many of us get stuck on a hamster wheel and end up giving and giving until we simply have nothing left. This in conjunction with trauma can lead to feelings of anxiety, depression, and hopelessness. My goal is to disrupt that cycle by providing a safe space for my clients to work through their most vulnerable emotions and emerge ready to tackle life’s challenges. I have spent my career working with adolescents, adults, couples, and families and use cognitive behavioral therapy in conjunction with motivational counseling to elicit real and lasting change. The objective is to access your inner strength and use it to examine and mend maladaptive patterns, whether they be emotional, relational, or trauma-based. Your past does not have to dictate your future. I believe that no matter what you have experienced, you can lead a happy and fulfilling life. I want to help you feel powerful and empowered to heal.
