My clinical area of interest and training is in behavioral pediatric counseling and cognitive behavioral therapy. I use my training to promote positive mental and behavioral health to children and their families. I use skills from a treatment approach called Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) to teach caregivers positive parenting and relationship-enhancing skills. PCIT teaches behavior management strategies to manage disruptive behavior, aggression, and promote adhering to instructions and family home rules. Other mental and behavioral concerns I assist children, youth, and families with include: academic problems, adjustments (death, divorce), aggression, ADHD, autism, child abuse/neglect/trauma, depression, developmental disabilities, fears & anxieties, feeding problems/picky eaters, oppositional behavior, pain management, parent training, sibling rivalry, sleep concerns, stress, thumb sucking, & toilet training. Additionally, I have completed training in Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT), an empirically-supported treatment program to assist children and their non-offending parents during the process of healing from child abuse, neglect, and trauma. I use these skills to assist individuals through traumatic experiences they've encountered.

Looking for telehealth therapy? You're in luck- I am ONLY telehealth! Looking into therapy can be scary. Talking about the thing(s) that bring you to therapy can be even scarier. It’s my goal to make therapy the tiniest amount of scary possible. The things you’ve been through, the experiences you’ve had, have brought you to where you are today. Maybe you’re not happy with where you are today- that’s ok! Maybe you don't know where, or who, you want to be- yet- and that's OK too! You're here, looking at this page right now because you want things to change and you know what? That's really fucking brave. Go you! I work almost exclusively with childhood trauma and the consequences of it. Therapy is about growth and moving toward the most healed version of yourself. The best part is: you decide what that looks like! It’s my job to help guide you in that direction. We'll work through what you're struggling with together to help you struggle less! I deeply value affirming care, autonomy & independence. YOU decide what you want from therapy & I’ll help you work toward it. YOU decide when you’re done, too. Some people enjoy therapy (I do!) & are lifelong attendees, others are looking for someone to bounce some stuff off of & gather some insight before heading on their way. Both are fine! Let's chat!

I've worked extensively with trauma survivors to help them find healing from their past, and to begin creating a life worth living for themselves in the present. I became a therapist because I wanted to work with clients who had experienced trauma, and while I specialize in working with LGBTQ+ clients, I have worked successfully with clients from numerous backgrounds. I've trained extensively in different therapeutic techniques to provide the most effective care for my clients, and am trained in EMDR therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally-Focused Therapy, and Psychodrama. I have a passion for my work, and strive to stay current on the latest practices in my field. My experience as part of the LGBTQ+ community and my knowledge of the unique challenges faced by members of the community helps me provide competent and knowledgeable care to my LGBTQ+ clients.

Are you tired of feeling like life will never get better? That you’ll always be impacted by memories from your past? That the anxiety, depression, self-doubt, guilt, relationship problems, or physical pain will never go away? Feel like you should be able to “just get over it”? You’ve come to the right place—there is hope! Did you know trauma comes in all forms and can impact people very differently? Complex trauma can develop due to multiple distressing events that typically happen over a period of time. Or trauma can be a single event such as a car accident, animal bite, complicated surgery, or traumatic birthing experience. I specialize in working with clients who are struggling from traumatic and distressing events. I primarily utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) in conjunction with other therapeutic techniques. I was trained in EMDR in 2015 and over the years have found EMDR to be very effective in helping clients in the healing process. The good news is if you’re ready to put in the work, you can heal from these experiences and move forward in your life! I would love the opportunity to be part of your journey to creating a more fulfilling life. I value and honor the complex ways in which each person engages with the world by collaborating with clients to create an open, safe, and non-judgmental space, prioritizing clients’ autonomy throughout the therapeutic process. As a queer-identified practitioner, I bring personal and professional experience to creating an affirming space, regardless of whether gender and/or sexuality are central issues in your current therapeutic needs. I'm experienced in working with folks experiencing anxiety, depression, mood variations, and the multitude of responses that can result from trauma. I view therapy as a collaborative space and enjoy co-learning with clients. I practice a compassion-focused, client-centered, trauma-informed therapeutic approach and use the tools and training I have to tend to the individual needs of my clients. Additionally, I integrate Internal Family Systems (IFS) theory into my therapy practice.

Hey, you made it! Be proud of yourself for taking this step to being a different you. I'd be honored to join in as you navigate through life’s challenges. We can challenge together troubling thought patterns that vex you; anxiety that keeps you up at night, or coping skills that just aren't cutting it. Let’s process the loss you never got to face, trauma that keeps popping up, or talk about that break up that really messed you up last year. I can help you work toward gaining momentum, get back on track, or just get to know yourself better. I am here to witness your experience, but even more so I will be here to sit with you in it. I try to be as human as possible; authenticity is my brand. I believe humor is a great avenue for communication, but also a mask we hide behind. I aim to help clients learn to rely less on a mask and lean into who they truly are. I enjoy working with individuals going through life changes; typically gen Z and millennial aged clients. By looking at how our history and experiences have shaped us, I believe we can better understand ourselves, our beliefs, our emotional masks, and I believe we can create better outcomes for ourselves as a result. If you are ready to explore these things, I am ready to explore them with you and help you find your way to a healthier you.

My practice includes psychotherapy and evaluations. As your therapist, my focus for our work will be shame reduction, insight and empowerment. I will help you understand and accept who you are while we discover your strengths and limitations. I want to see you improve your relationships and move forward with love. We cannot be loving while we are hateful and impatient with ourselves. Love asks a lot of us-honesty, effective communication, patience, forgiveness, and occasional ferocity.Therapy is a great place to practice truth-telling, tenderness and effective anger. Most days, I share my office with my dog, Carl. He is named after Carl Rogers, who believed that the therapist's unconditional positive regard for the client is the mechanism of change in psychotherapy. Carl excels at offering unconditional positive regard to everyone he meets. If you would prefer not to meet him, please inform the office staff. My psychological evaluations are designed to inform important decisions. These include evaluations to clarify mental health diagnoses and guide treatment, evaluations of prospective adoptive parents, and evaluations addressing the needs of employers or courts. My evaluation reports are focused and easy to understand.
