I often find myself meeting with clients who are struggling with feelings and behaviors that have come to the surface without them knowing why. I see this a lot in my work with adolescents, adults and couples. For many, life has become more complicated than they expected it would and no one should have to navigate that complexity alone. I believe in the relationship between the client and therapist and have witnessed it lead to growth and change. If you are looking to try therapy, please pursue it. Problems enter our lives and we do the best we can to manage and cope. Sometimes, it is useful to have someone to help navigate these struggles. That is how I view my role. It is important to me to provide a space where clients receive unconditional positive regard and where we work together as a collaborative team. I practice evidenced based psychology which is effective in relieving a variety of problems. My two main areas of focus are gender health as well as treating OCD/Phobias and related disorders. I work to incorporate techniques that make sense to the client and are effective in bringing relief. I have extensive training and experience working with issues related to gender health. As an affirming therapist, it is imperative to me to offer a supportive and non-judgmental space for clients to explore and meet their individualized goals. I provide surgery letters and assistance connecting clients with affirming services in the community. My practice is 2SLGBTQIA+ welcoming. I offer individual, couples, and family therapy. I treat individuals with developmental delays and/or autism spectrum disorders ranging from ages 2 to 20 years of age. I have 13 years professionally and personally working with autism spectrum disorders and developmental delays. As a parent of a child with autism as well as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, I have been blessed with special insight and understanding of the challenges that families face. I specialize in behavior problems that range from noncompliance to aggression, toileting, and teaching functional life skills, such as communication, following directions, and social skills. I am able to provide services such as ABA assessment, center based interventions, parent training and in-home programs. For some, it is not an easy decision to start counseling, but the therapy process can lead to unimaginable improvement. I do counseling with children, teens, and adults for a wide range of issues. I have a background in clinical psychotherapy in hospital in-patient crisis stabilization, and acute diagnostic settings and out-patient clinical counseling settings.
