I am currently only accepting certain clients for my waitlist. I do have spots available for my Parenting Classes. I specialize in helping children, teens, and adults manage and decrease their anxiety. While anxiety can be a part of daily life, at times it becomes debilitating or distressing. I work with my clients to find a way to balance daily stress while still finding enjoyment in life. I utilize evidence-based practices that are based on science and measurable goals. I like my clients to feel involved in the process of choosing goals and measuring their own progress and successes. Typical diagnoses that I work with include Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Panic Disorder, Social Phobia, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, Separation Anxiety, or specific phobias. A large percentage of my practice is focused of treatment of OCD. I utilize Exposure with Response Prevention as a treatment for OCD. Finally, I run Parenting Classes focusing on helping parents of anxious children. These workshops help parents to provide support for their children but to not feel sucked in to "giving in" too much to anxiety. We discuss the fine line between providing support but also instilling encouragement. Each parent will work on individual goals in the class.

I began my journey as a therapist first by seeking work as a teacher. I graduated from Oregon State University with a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Sciences in 2013, which led me to work as a preschool teacher until 2017. Working with families in this capacity made me see just how much need there is for therapists who work from a systemic perspective. It was this that compelled me to enroll at Capella University, from which I earned a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2022 I became an LMFTA because families and relationships of all structures are valid and able to bring joy and fulfillment. My goal as a therapist is to work with my clients to discover and utilize the unique strengths of their family and use them to come closer to their ideal dynamic. I do this drawing primarily from narrative, solution-focused, and DBT. As someone who has also served sex and gender minority communities for over a decade, I have a passion for this population in particular. This includes the LGBTQ+, polyamorous, kink, and sex worker communities. I served as a board member for the Human Dignity Coalition for several years and am currently in the process of earning my AASECT certification

Struggling with relationships, disturbing emotions, traumatic pasts, despair, addictions, utter confusion, all of this has meaning and the potential to propel us toward a better life. My job is to help people understand the process of what's happening and provide tools, skills and insights to navigate not just this situation, but future ones as well. So often people focus on symptoms instead of causes. Sometimes it's about managing symptoms, but more often there awaits an opportunity to get to the root and grow through and beyond this obstacle, to be more aware, capable and resilient than ever before. I have come to know that we learn as much or more by experience than by conversation. Our deepest learning is when we know something in our heads, our hearts, and at a gut-level. Otherwise, an idea by itself often doesn't bring about real change and lasting peace. I use a variety of experiential methods to explore, heal and deeply transform what's happening. That said, I begin by getting your goals and I honor the direction and scope of work that we set together. It is a safe and respectful path that enables us to go far.

Accepting NEW Clients (ages 18-65) as of 1/3/23 for Tele-Psychiatry (medication treatment only, not therapy). Appointments are available in 2 weeks. Complete the Patient Inquiry Form on my website. You will receive a response the same or next day. My practice is primarily composed of adults struggling with anxiety and depression. I find that people reach out to treatment when excessive worry, low motivation, and negative thinking can lead to feeling less confident in their work, behind on tasks at home, and impacting their relationships. I don't treat ADHD and I don't prescribe controlled substances, such as Xanax for anxiety. I have successfully helped people reduce anxiety and depression that has only partially been helped through therapy by adding psychiatric medication that is targeted to treat worry, panic, OCD, depression and bipolar symptoms. I have advanced training in using research-based medication approaches to make a specific plan for your particular symptoms. If you want to know more about the medications you are taking or are uncertain if medication is right for you, I will help you understand your options. Please visit my website and complete the Patient Inquiry Form. Responses in 1-2 days. Please include your insurance name and member ID so we can do a benefits check for you. We don't take Medicare or OHP.

I became a therapist to help people recover from the traumas they have suffered in a world riddled with abuse. I want to share hope, like someone once did for me and lead others to a more full life when it seems impossible. If you're looking at this now, chances are you're in a really difficult space and looking for answers. I hope that we can meet and figure out your unique answers together, rewrite the story of you so that you can build the life you want. I specialize in the treatment of trauma and PTSD for sexual assault, childhood/developmental abuse, domestic violence and divorce recovery, as well as the related grief work. I use a straightforward approach. Knowledge and Empowerment is key to recovery and to making the decisions that best suit our lifestyle. Note: I do have a therapy dog that attends all my sessions with me.

Welcome! I'm so glad you're here. I provide professional mental health counseling services for adolescents and adults. I approach counseling as a joint relationship in which you and I collaborate together in a supportive, safe environment. My belief is that all clients have unique insight and ability to improve their own lives but may need help identifying strengths and developing skills that support healing, healthy decision making, relationships and steps towards positive growth. I personally operate from a Christian worldview and am willing to incorporate this into our counseling. My work as a counselor started in college counseling centers, working with students during the complex transition from adolescence to young adulthood. I've worked at a rehabilitation hospital administering psychological testing to children and adults. Since then, I've expanded my professional scope to include women's trauma and abuse recovery, EMDR and ACT. Seeking counseling is often a difficult decision and requires courage and commitment! I look forward to meeting you and hearing more about your personal journey. Send me a message or call me! I will respond as soon as possible.

I've been helping people with the "hard stuff" for a long time. I decided to work in the field of domestic violence in 1998 by way of intervention programs for both men and women who were convicted of an assault or who self identified as wanting to end their use of abuse with their loved ones. I opened my own business in 2000 specializing in anger management, domestic violence, parent education for children and teens, co-parenting education, and a program for parents who were convicted of abuse or neglect. I became a mediator in 2014 and I have conducted thousands of child custody, parenting plan, and family conflict mediations. I've learned that a family systems approach can be critical in assisting families to become more functional so everyone can get their needs met and thrive. By increasing stability, safety, and security both individually and in the entire system, people are better able to deal with life challenges and major life transitions, as allies not adversaries. Life can be so very hard. I've put together a menu of services intended to help you improve your current situation and prevent future problems. You don't have to do it alone. I offer counseling, coaching, parent education, anger management, facilitation, parenting plan mediation, and parent coordination. I look forward to meeting you. www.coexistus.com

Please visit my website for more information. I take pride in feedback from my clients who report that they feel extremely safe and comfortable with me in therapy but simultaneously challenged by seeing things from a new perspective. I feel that it is vital that a client can share anything and everything without fearing embarrassment or judgement so that we can confront and overcome the barriers that are holding you back and keeping you stuck. I connect well with clients who have faced a lot of challenges in life and have trouble sharing or feel different than others. I also love working with couples and helping them reconnect. We can discuss the different therapies and treatments and decide together what we'll address as we go. Some choose to just get back to their baseline function in the face of stress while others want to finally face buried trauma. In couples work, we'll discover why you and your partner seem to fall into the same traps and find new solutions to avoid them. I truly believe therapy helps and I love helping others get to a healthier place in life. I offer in-person therapy in Bend, OR and telehealth options all throughout Oregon. I am currently seeing clients Wednesdays through Fridays. It's stressful to take a leap into therapy, but feel free to call me and we'll discuss anything that helps you decide.

I am a retired high tech executive who has embarked on a career as a life coach specializing in addiction counseling. As a State-certified counselor, I’ve helped men from 20 to 60 years of age and from many backgrounds. However, having worked in the corporate world, I’m uniquely qualified to help people struggling with substance abuse in high pressure environments. Addiction is a secondary issue in my view. The problem is most people approach life in a reactive, rather than proactive mode. This usually results in sub-optimal outcomes. I will help you with personal and professional life planning to get your life on track. I find cognitive behavioral approaches to be most effective in helping the client challenge his own thinking and decision-making. The first step is to review your life goals, determine what's important to you. Are your current activities helping you achieve these goals? Do you have a plan to achieve these goals or are you just "winging it?" One of my focuses is on people that have returned to their careers after completing short-term recovery programs. This is a critical transition point. Your life will need to be redesigned to accommodate new goals. We'll put together a plan to rebuild your family, professional, and personal life. All in balance, so you won't return to old habits.

Do you sense your life has become unmanageable? Do you feel there are roadblocks in your relationships? The journey of life can become bumpy. I offer a safe place to walk alongside you while facing distress, anxiety, heartbreak, or other disappointments life can bring. I will help to guide you toward healthier relationships. I address parental relationships with children, couples relationships (both premarital and couples counseling). I also work with individuals in gaining insight into interpersonal conflicts. I work with parents and children struggling with finding the joy in raising kids including families facing the challenge of disabilities. Building relationships between parents and children in order to address conflict is of particular interest to me. The family system is a beautiful and reliable environment. When clashes are challenged and addressed, the possibilities for, hope, healing, and growth can occur. I have studied and embraced the family systems models. Family shapes who we are and how we interact with others. I also have a special interest in methods including art therapy and sand tray therapy as well as family sculpting interventions.
