Life can get overwhelming at times. Often, stressful events, deep feelings of woundedness, feeling cut off from joy, and simply not feeling good about yourself or your relationship(s) get to the point where you know it is time to face these difficulties. As challenging as these things are, they can be the catalyst for change. I am available to help you with anxiety, sadness, grief, loss, and relationship issues and to experience life's challenges in ways that promote healing and wholeness and connect with what you truly want, need, and already have in your heart. I am a relationship/emotion/mindfulness specialist and can help you open up to new ways of being with your partner, children, and yourself. It is possible to break free of destructive patterns in relationships and connect with your heart and with others. Allow 90 minute sessions for couples. Through compassion and empathy, I strive to create a safe place to help people trust the things they know and face the things they don't want to know. Using mindfulness, emotion-focused therapy, and modern neuropsychoanalytic science I endeavor to help people live more authentically and with greater well-being. www.authenticlifecounselingllc.com

As an Oregon Professional Counselor Associate I understand that people do not seek counseling because everything in their life is going well. It takes real courage to make that first step towards healing. I approach counseling from a Christian Worldview believing that deep down people want to be seen and understood. Through meaningful conversation, we’ll investigate your attachment style to shed light on how you relate to others in your life by using emotionally focused therapy to help you understand how your emotions impact your relationships. I have a desire to help people who are experiencing a spiritual crisis, depression, anxiety, and interpersonal difficulties. If you are ready to take that first step towards healing and change, please give me a call and lets find a time to chat and explore what a counseling journey might look like for you.

***Currently available for in-person and Teletherapy appointments*** I am passionate about people leading empowered, connected, and purposeful lives. I provide counseling services to diverse clients as they learn, change, grow, and function in increasingly inspired, creative, healthy, and adaptive ways. I work collaboratively with clients in identifying needs, making changes, and practicing new skills in a safe and supportive setting. I am experienced in working with adults, couples, families, as well as adolescent clients, on issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, anger, identity, and unwanted thoughts or emotions. Primarily, I use Systems Theory, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Strength Based Approaches; while including an array of other therapeutic modalities to help the individual, couple, and family accomplish their goals. Together we discover underline influences for concerns and collaboratively work towards achieving our mission. My background before psychotherapy is in study of behavioral science, philosophy, and athletics, which continues to inform my work as a therapist. I also have experience working with the criminality population and their families, at-risk student and professional athletes, as well as high profile individuals.

I believe that the client has the ability to grow and change within themselves. The counselor’s role is to collaborate with the client to identify their strengths and resilience that will bring about hope and healing. I approach therapy with unconditional positive regard and empathy that honors the uniqueness of each person. I also approach therapy from a Christian worldview, but out of care and respect, I will not impose beliefs or opinions onto clients. I work with clients experiencing addiction, OCD, PTSD, depression & anxiety. I primarily use narrative, parts work, & EMDR. My past experience is as a court-appointed special advocate, therapeutic foster parent, & residential counselor.
