Your willingness to seek help is a courageous step towards healing & change. I believe in the transformative power of a therapeutic relationship and view it as our combined effort. I use LGBTQIA+ affirming, social justice-oriented, trauma-informed, and strengths-based approaches to foster a safe, consistent and curious environment that supports your wisdom while guiding your pursuit of valued and meaningful living. Our partnership will include my extensive education & advanced training working with individuals who have been adversely impacted by relational and attachment disruptions, abuse/neglect and complex traumatic experiences. We will explore ways in which your painful experiences and unresolved feelings discourage you from creating the fulfilling life you desire. We will enhance your ability to be present with your thoughts and feelings to increase your understanding of how these internal events keep you stuck in habitual behaviors and responses that might no longer serve you. While I draw from a number of modalities, including attachment, neuroscience, existential-humanistic, psychodynamic, and solution-focused, I focus on mindfulness and acceptance-informed therapy, particularly Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). This is an evidence based approach to the problem of suffering, and the pursuit of values and meaningful life.

English  |  español So much of life is learning to deal with the cards we’ve been given. I love seeing people not only deal with the cards they’ve been given, but turn them into amazing card castles. I want to help those that seek to get unstuck grow toward their best selves, have great relationships and enjoy lives filled with joy. I like to use well-researched therapeutic techniques that have been proven to help people grow. In couples therapy that means drawing from the research of John Gottman. In family and individual therapy that means an integrative approach - utilizing practical therapeutic tools that help clients achieve their goals. I am great at helping people find their way out of stuck places. For individuals that means encouraging and equipping you to address whatever hurdles you face. I help couples find their way back to one another utilizing the Gottman approach. And I lead "The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work," workshop by John Gottman. Life can get really hard and I've been there. Let me help you overcome whatever challenge you're facing right now. Please call or message me and let's gets started!

COVID-19 - You are not alone. Feelings of isolation may be intensified. Rather than being an obstacle, our bodies and our sensual nature can be integral to personal and spiritual liberation. My work is grounded, respectful and authentic. In confidential, online sessions, men gain mastery of how to generate, contain and transform sexual energy and cultivate deep presence. Women remember how to heal and reclaim their sexual power and become radiant in their ability to be love. Profound levels of respect and joy emerge within couples. As a result, we learn to relax deeply and access our life potential in a profound and powerful way. I am passionate about supporting men and women of all ages, all orientations, alone or partnered, towards creating new and practical maps towards a vibrant and nourishing erotic connection with themselves and the world I provide a bridge between more esoteric 'tantric' teachings and western psychotherapeutic and somatic practices that are congruent with personal values. Sessions contain a combination of teaching, counseling and experiential practices.

Accepting NEW Clients (ages 18-65) as of 1/3/23 for Tele-Psychiatry (medication treatment only, not therapy). Appointments are available in 2 weeks. Complete the Patient Inquiry Form on my website. You will receive a response the same or next day. My practice is primarily composed of adults struggling with anxiety and depression. I find that people reach out to treatment when excessive worry, low motivation, and negative thinking can lead to feeling less confident in their work, behind on tasks at home, and impacting their relationships. I don't treat ADHD and I don't prescribe controlled substances, such as Xanax for anxiety. I have successfully helped people reduce anxiety and depression that has only partially been helped through therapy by adding psychiatric medication that is targeted to treat worry, panic, OCD, depression and bipolar symptoms. I have advanced training in using research-based medication approaches to make a specific plan for your particular symptoms. If you want to know more about the medications you are taking or are uncertain if medication is right for you, I will help you understand your options. Please visit my website and complete the Patient Inquiry Form. Responses in 1-2 days. Please include your insurance name and member ID so we can do a benefits check for you. We don't take Medicare or OHP.

A person's trajectory in life can be offset by stress, strain and compromises. Therapy can re-orient a person to their core needs and strivings, allowing them to become more effective and engaged at work, home, and in relationships. Imagining positive change for yourself is an important step and yet taking that step can be challenging. "The best time to plant a tree was yesterday; The second best time is now." I look forward to hearing about what's happening in your life now. I work with patients who come for help with relationship problems, symptoms of anxiety and depression, as well as those with interpersonal trauma from relationships with family or partners. I aim to bring awareness to interpersonal and behavior patterns while identifying actions that can be taken to bring about positive change. I offer a collaborative, safe, and respectful environment where conversations unfold at their own pace. It is important that a person trusts the therapist who they work with and is able to discuss their problems openly. The right "fit" between therapist and patient can be determined best after an initial consultation.

You can never seem to get on track. You’ve tried everything you can think of, from ideas from YouTube to suggestions from other people. The message you’re getting through life is to try harder. And just trying harder never seems to work. Whether you have ADHD or some of the traits attributed to it, trying harder isn’t going to work. What the well-meaning people who try to help don’t know is that you need to try something different. Each time you lose your keys, forget to turn off the stove, or get sidetracked and lose track of time, you roll your eyes at yourself. Not again! You’ve been trying hard to stop doing these things – but you can’t. You feel angry at yourself and anyone who reminds you to do something you already know you can’t. You can’t keep up and forget things at home, work, or school. Each thought is like a fridge magnet. And as soon as you stick another magnet on the fridge, one of the previous magnets falls. Whether it’s organization, keeping up with deadlines, being on time, or focusing on the task at hand, there are practical tools you can learn to support your focus on whatever it is you need to do. Imagine being able to get things done in a timely matter. Learning ADHD tools and techniques can be life-changing. Start building your confidence today!

Couples therapy is my passion. Given the chaos and the way in which human relationships are being undermined in our world today, I feel this work is particularly needed. As far as human happiness goes, I see time and time again that it is the quality of a person’s relationships that makes it or breaks it. This is really the foundation of my couples therapy practice. More than ever, the world needs couples who have each other’s backs, and can bring empathy and intelligent action into the world. View 10 Photos I am a psychotherapist licensed in Minnesota and Oregon offering online couples therapy. I specialize in Emotionally Focused Therapy and Gottman Therapy. Additionally, I am a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor, Certified Narrative therapist and Certified Sex Therapist. I come to this work with a belief in people, in possibilities, and in the power of relationships. I work from the perspective that healing happens in a positive environment, and that relationships are sustained through love, laughter, presence, humanity, acceptance, and solidarity. Accessing hope, grounding, greater energy, and newfound peace are my specialities and passion, and I assist the patient to take charge in finding harmony and illuminating a vibrant life. Working creatively and eclectically I assess the unique strengths and needs of each adult who calls. My goal is to assist clients to become more masterful in their lives at every age. Using the lens of in-depth traditional psychotherapeutic knowledge, empowered with neurofeedback brain training, I aim for faster outcomes than those possible with “talk therapy” alone. Central to my work are brain fitness training (Neurofeedback) techniques, and discretionary tools patients may use at home for self-regulation. See www.brightmindstrainingllc.com to learn more. I find (and robust current neuroscientific research shows) that when brain and nervous system are consistently regulated, untoward symptoms drop away, mood and sleep Along with genuinely empathic concern, unique to my coaching is a comprehensive approach to each client's needs, strengths, and potential. The mind and body are intertwined; thus an integrative perspective taps the panoply of requisites for truly optimal outcomes. and appropriate medical referrals.

My clients are mostly adults in individual and couples therapy who are navigating the stressors of relationships, adulthood, life transitions, communication, dating, anxiety, and attachment. You may be someone who is struggling to live in the uncertainty that life often brings, or maybe you're navigating boundaries in your relationships - all things that bring about anxiety and fear for many people. Despite what it may be, I am here to support you and talk through it with you. I can offer support in areas of anxiety, depression, grief, family/relationship/dating challenges, identity formation, sexuality, and personal growth. Therapy with me is a safe, direct, and judgement-free space for you to start identifying and noticing patterns in your own ways of connecting, feeling, and existing. My approach draws from an existential-humanistic lens, while drawing from Internal Family Systems, Attachment Theory, Emotion Focused Therapy, and Somatic Therapy. While starting therapy is certainly worth it, it can also be scary - it's not always comfortable sitting in uncertainty, anxiety, and overall discomfort. As we focus on the present moment, we will explore attachment styles, family dynamics, generational cycles, habitual patterns, and relational roles - together. I am here for you every step of the way.

I focus on intimate relationships, sexual expression, disparate desire, shifting intimacy, alternative relating styles, polyamory. This often includes performance issues, the impact of aging and menopause, dealing with grief and jealousy. I have experience working with differing abilities and my clients range in age from mid-twenties to mid-nineties. I also work with those in recovery from drug/alcohol addiction and their specific issues around sex and relationships. I aim to engage the mind and heart while centering on the body. Pleasure is important and a great way to learn! There is no age at which sex becomes inappropriate. Conversely, in our hyper-sexual culture we often feel pressure to be something we are not. Sexually speaking we are better off accepting our authentic preferences. What is normal? I create a safe container to explore delicate topics and vulnerable feelings. I am a certified Sexologist and wrote my dissertation on teaching sexual health in recovery from addiction. I began meditating at age eleven. My real sexual education began with my first tantra workshop in 1997. I am intensely curious about how consciousness expresses through sexuality and the importance of sexual compatibility.
