As a parent or caregiver, seeing your child struggle with mental health challenges, behavioral issues, loss or trauma can be confusing and overwhelming. Mental health challenges are widespread among our children and can seriously affect their quality of life. However, with therapeutic intervention, children can learn to communicate feelings, cope with challenges, and develop problem-solving skills that will help them to thrive in all areas of their lives. My name is Annike Sprow, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes in working with children with emotional and behavioral challenges, and trauma histories. I like to think about therapy as one piece to the overall wellness puzzle. Therefore, I take a holistic approach to therapy, making sure to create opportunities for caregiver and teacher collaboration. I use CBT strategies, which are used for “here and now” problem solving and behavior modification. I assess and target environmental stressors that can affect emotional wellness. During sessions, I teach and model emotional regulation skills that assist in increasing an internal sense of calm and control. I am passionate about healing and look forward to opportunities where I can be a support in children and family’s lives.

Therapy can be difficult to begin and I recognize the courage it takes to make this commitment to yourself. In this process, I am committed to a practice of non-judgment and empathy as we explore stressors and difficulties you are experiencing. We will work collaboratively to bring self-acceptance, creativity, and compassion into your everyday struggles. I work with adults experiencing a range of life challenges in the areas of anxiety, depression, stress, grief and loss, trauma, issues with alcohol and other substances, relationships, sexuality, gender identity, non-monogamy, polyamory, kink and others. Each individual has unique needs that change over time. Together, we will find the paths that work for you. My approach to therapy is psychodynamic, client centered and integrative. I pull from a variety of evidence based treatment modalities. I would be honored to talk with you for a free consultation to decide together if scheduling a session is a desired next step. I am able to practice therapy with people living anywhere in the state of Pennsylvania only. Please note I accept private pay only and take no insurances at this time.
