I've been in private practice for over 15 years and enjoy diversity in my office. My approach is really dependent on my clients unique needs. I would describe myself as caring and direct and have been told by my clients that my challenges to them are as beneficial as my empathy towards them. My hope is to sit with people in a focused, loving and generative way, helping my clients move towards a deeper sense of vitality, self-awareness and authenticity. I work with individuals (adults), couples and adolescents. Areas of interest include: relational dilemmas, depression, stress and anxiety; spirituality, childhood abuse, trauma, neglect and/or maladaptive behaviors/coping skills. I'm also keen to work with existential issues around life, death, spiritual journeys and suicidal ideation. Being able to talk openly and honestly about feelings is the foundation of therapy. A therapist is a supportive person who can listen to you and give you honest feedback in an emotionally safe space. Therapy is about getting a better understanding of yourself, your behavior, feelings, motivations, and patterns. When you come to therapy, I want you to feel comfortable coming in just as you are. I help people who are coping with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, grief, substance abuse, and trauma. My practice uses trauma-informed therapy, CBT, acceptance and commitment, DBT skills, mindfulness, and emotional regulation. I am Certified Clinical Trauma Professional trained in treatment of trauma survivors. You will experience a non-judgmental client-centered environment where you become more aware of your behavior, feelings and thinking patterns which thread through your life, relationships, and self-fulfillment. For client convenience, I offer therapy on Telehealth in addition to in-person.

I have 15 years of experience working with children and adults and the best feeling in my professional life is when my clients no longer need me. I consider it a privilege that I can help people through difficult times, whether it's workplace stress, life-phase challenges, relationship issues, concerns with family dynamics, or anxiety / depression taking their toll on everyday functioning. If you feel that any of the above are preventing you from feeling content, or from achieving your full potential in life, I can help you. The client-therapist relationship is the cornerstone of this process. This relationship will grow and work its “magic” when the person sitting in my office feels safe, knowing that they won't be judged no matter what they say – which is my main principle. I am here to support you; together we can shine light on what works in your life, and what doesn't. When helping families, I treat them as a unit, while also maintaining focus on individual members. I consider my work done when mother, father and child(ren) each achieved as much comfort and relief as possible within their own unique circumstances, and also improved their relationships with one another. I look forward to working with you!

To begin, Distance Counseling is offered for clients who cannot make face to face sessions. I believe barriers seldom produce opportunities for change. On another note, I am usually asked, what person is best suited or needs counseling? Honestly, there are many ways and templates (Word document and Google Search) geared to answer this question. Those methods sound enticing. Yet, they operate from the focus of a proprietor. Another clinician may indicate the best suited clients are willing and committed. I don't need the BEST SUITED CLIENT, just those who ask for help. Let's Work Together. View 6 Photos

Before transitioning to a second career in Counseling, I enjoyed a lengthy and rewarding career as a Human Resources professional in the Healthcare industry. Over my career I worked with thousands of business colleagues on their professional skills, personal development, employee relations, and executive coaching. With a growing interest and investment in my own personal journey and in helping others with deeper and more personal challenges, I decided to pursue specialized education in counseling. In counseling, I help people find hope and their voice to embrace who they are in their "best self". And because safe, connected relationships are crucial to well-being, I help you learn how to repair destructive patterns that cause conflict and disconnection, and offer new pathways to hope and healing from loss and wounds that keep them stuck.

My mission and heart is to provide an honest, safe, and compassionate place where my clients can find relational healing and wholeness. I am glad you are here. You are not alone. My therapeutic approach is grounded in my belief that we are wired for relationship with ourselves, others, and God. I am a wife, a mom, and a professional. My hope is that this allows you to feel like I am coming alongside you and you have a deep sense of being heard and understood on many levels. In our work together, my desire is that you will find practical, long-lasting ways of changing your relationships, experiences, and interactions. My work is influenced by attachment theory, internal family systems (IFS), and narrative therapy. Everyone wants to be themselves, to be “seen,” and to be valued for their uniqueness. We’re wired to need safe and affirming relationships and connection with others. When we’re struggling, it’s usually because something has gotten in the way of these things - not because we’re somehow "defective" or "flawed." I value authenticity, and strive to help clients feel and honor emotions that may seem “wrong" or unacceptable. I've worked with college students, survivors of sexual assault and intimate partner violence, adults with ADHD, couples, and individuals living with severe and persistent mental illness. I tailor therapy according to your needs, but draw significantly from humanistic, emotion-focused, experiential, feminist, and interpersonal approaches. I'm a licensed psychologist who began my career as a clinical social worker. I see myself as not only a therapist, but also an advocate. I work to provide an LGBTQIA-affirming and anti-racist space that feels welcoming and safe. If you need an ally who sees the best in you – exactly as you are - I would be honored to work with you.

I have loved being a therapist for 16+ years. I specialize in helping those with anxiety (panic attacks, stress and daily worry), self-esteem and relationship issues (getting into one, deciding to get out of one or trying to help your current romantic or family relationships). It is such joy to make an impact in someone's life. I think that is something my clients would say about me - I want to help them make changes that will aid them in having the life they have always wanted. I work mainly with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to assist clients in evaluating their thoughts and behaviors that are maladaptive and contribute to anxiety and low self-esteem. I work with clients on their communication in relationships and/or with making important relationship decisions (divorce, fidelity, etc). My goal is to empower you with the skills and confidence to navigate life's challenges with resilience and inner peace. I would love to be there for you during this time.
