Life presents many circumstances that can be difficult for any person to navigate on their own. We aren’t born with the emotional regulation skills or coping skills needed to deal with the complexities of this fast-paced, high-pressure society. Some days we may be consumed with negative thoughts that hinder us from being who we want to be. Some days we are flooded with big emotions that are hard to control and seem to overpower us. Some days we experience worries that seem so big that it's hard for us to function. View 5 Photos I offer a safe, therapeutic space for children, adolescents, and young adults to get in touch with their inner self and develop tools to help them through life’s challenges. For parents, I offer support and resources. For clients looking for neurological causes for their symptoms and for services to optimize their brain, I offer EEG-guided neurofeedback. Meeting with a new therapist can feel intimidating and scary. A trusting relationship built with a therapist is critical for therapeutic success. I aim to be that confidant in your life who you can trust and feel comfortable talking to.

Emotions are part of being human.I like to think of feelings as tools; indicators of where we are in life and that it may be time to explore change. All too often we find ourselves wrapped up in situations that evoke emotions so powerful, we can become overwhelmed. Regardless of your situation, I will meet you where you're at & help to identify and utilize strengths you posses as we move closer toward a place of clarity & growth. I enjoy helping individuals make sense of the past, as they work on the present and achieve a stronger sense of self. I believe healing can be a collaborative endeavor that thrives in an honest and open space free of judgment. In my approach, I emphasize the importance of self-awareness as a tool for regaining power and recognizing patterns within both the self and relationships. Moving toward doing more of what is working and less of what is not. I consider my approach to be an eclectic mix of post-modern and evidenced-based modalities. You are unique as an individual. It only makes sense that your treatment be tailored as such.

If you've been struggling to cope with trauma or issues around sex, sexuality, or gender identity, I'm here to help. Isolation, anxiety, depression, distrust, and boundary issues are all normal reactions to trauma and stress, but they don't have to be permanent. Whether you're questioning your identities, considering about coming out, learning about oppression and liberation, or dealing with the emotional fallout of trauma, you don't have to do it alone. In therapy, we can explore identity and relationship issues, practice effective coping skills, or examine the oppressive systems at the root of inequality, it's up to you and what you're needing! My ultimate goal is to support you in finding stability, joy, and self-acceptance. There's no such thing as TMI in therapy: we can talk about sex, dating, abuse, religion, money, family, and other "shameful" topics without judgment. We can cuss, cry, laugh, share memes, and make darkly inappropriate jokes about mental health. Therapy requires honesty and cutting through the bs; we find healing via authentic connection with others.

Are you neurodivergent and tired of feeling like you have to mask with your therapist? Or are you part of the LGBTQ community and struggling to find a therapist you don't have to educate or who doesn’t make you feel judged? Perhaps you have experienced a trauma or great loss and feel like you will never heal. Maybe you grew up in a toxic environment where you were led to believe you weren't lovable. These are the types of wounds I work with clients to help heal. My clients describe me as easy to open up to and empathic, maybe because of my own unique ties to the LGBTQ community or my lived experience as a neurodivergent human. I utilize a combination of modalities (EMDR, DBT, and trauma-informed yoga) to address trauma, grief (including pet loss), dissociative disorders and DID, and body image struggles. I will also begin Heart-Centered Hypnotherapy training in January. I am also experienced in working with folx in the poly/ENM/kink community (I am not a couples therapist). Reaching out for help takes courage so if you have come this far, congratulations on the next step of your journey! I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to check to see if we are a good fit. Feel free to email me with any questions or to schedule a 15-minute phone consultation call or a first session.
