Ever feel like this counseling thing just isn't for you? That traditional talk therapy just goes in circles with some progress but you end up in the same spot. You think, "Maybe I'm too broken." Getting stuck in anxiety, depression, defensiveness, disconnection, etc. can feel never-ending. Like we are always just trying to make it through life rather than fully experience it. Your brain and body is built to help you survive this world. So, when we have a history of trauma our brain and body learns to always be on alert for danger. You're not broken, just stuck in protection modes and your body can learn to find a sense of safety. I am passionate about understanding the why about our mental health struggles rather than just focusing on symptoms. I specialize in working with clients that struggle with nervous system regulation due to trauma and focus on using "bottom-up" approaches such as Brainspotting, Polyvagal Theory, and The Safe & Sound Protocol. It's lonely to feel broken and that nothing helps. I believe all of us have the capability to find safety and rest and I'd love to help empower you to find this in yourself.

I am a psychologist in Waco and I love what I do. I work with many concerns such as anxiety, depression, life adjustments, grief, relational conflict, women's issues, and identity formation. I have particular interest in working with folx presenting with sexual dysfunction, arousal and desire concerns, sexual identity formation, and intimacy distress. I am currently taking new clients who are seeking healing and restoration in their sexual functioning. In addition, I have a personal and professional investment in social issues and am intentional about promoting hope and justice in the work that I do. My approach to therapy takes into account each person's intersecting identities and treatment is tailored to allow your whole self to be present and honored in the therapy space. My approach involves identifying and disentangling long-standing patterns of thinking, feeling, and acting that are often the product of relational wounds or painful experiences. My goal is to help you examine and challenge these patterns and to identify new ways of being that provide you with the ability to authentically engage with yourself and others. My work is collaborative and together we will create emotional safety where you can engage in vulnerability, increased insight, and take practical steps to change your life.

Kelly V. Tatsch is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who has worked with a wide range of individuals, including parents, children, families, individuals, military, civilian, and seniors. She has 10 years of experience in the mental health field. For Kelly, each client begins as an unknown individual that she will work with to develop a trusting, caring relationship, which is necessary for the client to relate their needs and goals. Many individuals begin the first session with a sense of concern that they do not know what to expect. Kelly’s best tool for therapy is her ability to listen without judgment. Kelly completed her Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mathematics at Tarleton State University and her Master of Science (MS) in Counseling Psychology at Tarleton State University. In order to help clients achieve their goals, Kelly reassures them that they will just begin with a casual conversation and continue from there. She lets her clients know that she sees everyone as just a person, which helps begin the trusting process. A client who reaches out for help can expect to find a life that is once again in a good place. And also they may find that the new tools they learn will help them avoid the same issues again.
