I like to take a personal approach with clients and provide a comfortable space to keep bettering ourselves. I strive to provide that place where you can tell your story and not only be heard, but understand how to better cope with the things you are struggling with and take control of your story. I work with adolescents and adults and specialize in anxiety disorders, depression, OCD, and trauma. I am EMDR trained and use elements of ACT, CBT, TF-CBT, ERP, and attachment theory in therapy. We all need a place and space where we feel heard and understood, especially when the stressors of our lives start to negatively affect us. I enjoy spending time outside, being with people I love, movies, books, music, and travelling.

I work primarily with couples that are struggling to feel connected and stay connected with each other. I help them have impactful experiences in session that build connection, resolve injuries and issues between them, and create a shared future that is win-win for both partners. I also work with individuals and families that have ongoing conflicts or lingering difficulties from their growing up years. Lastly, I work with individuals, couples and families that are experiencing interference in their lives due to the use of technology including gaming, pornography, and internet, social media, and smart phone use. I meet couples in the heart of their difficulties to help them find ways to heal and grow as individuals and as a couple. My training has included completion of Level Three of Gottman Method Couple Therapy training as well as Externship training in Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy. I focus on working with each client to take action and find their own specific path to success in life. My goal is to help people become experts in their own patterns so they can resolve what brought them into therapy and also face new challenges where possible without needing to return to therapy. If you are ready to seek change, I am here to help!

There isn’t a cookie-cutter approach to therapy. I have learned and gained an appreciation of this throughout my experiences that every person is unique and has their own story to tell. I view each client through this lens and treat each client as an individual. I approach therapy with each client through a strength-based perspective that focuses on the client’s strengths, experiences, and successes. My approach to therapy is shaped directly by the needs and goals of each client rather than being prescriptive. I work together with each client to reach their goals for therapy and ultimately a more fulfilling and rewarding life. I have been involved in the mental health field professionally for over 9 years in various capacities and roles. I have worked with adolescents and adults in numerous settings, including inpatient behavioral health, adolescent residential treatment, juvenile justice services, emergency department social work, and outpatient therapy. A little bit about me – I was born and raised in Southern California but moved to Utah in 2011. I enjoy tinkering, figuring out how things work, and continually learning. I am huge into technology, and I am currently working on creating the ultimate smart home. My wife is an nurse and we have a little Parti Yorkie named Max who rounds out our family.

Life transitions can feel brutal. Changes in relationships, jobs, school, family dynamics, and belief systems can cause stress, anxiety, or depression. Life transitions often involve a painful loss and feelings of confusion. They force us to let go of the comfort of familiarity and face uncomfortable thoughts and emotions. With adaptive coping strategies and plenty of self-exploration, they can also be the launching point in which we heal old wounds and find new meaning in the retelling of our story. As a mental health counselor at Symmetry Solutions, I hope to bring empathy, compassion, and extensive life experience to therapy, by creating a safe space and a trusting therapeutic relationship with my clients. I use a range of therapeutic modalities tailored to each client and their unique challenges. I passionately believe that effective therapy must consist of scientifically-informed and evidence-based treatments. You are the true expert on you. Together we will collaborate to find solutions and tools to help you navigate challenges while finding meaning and growth in the revision and retelling of your life story.
