Each of us experiences times when life is not as joyful as it used to be, or perhaps we feel as if we are spinning out of control. Therapy can help with a renewed sense of balance and empowerment, leading to a joyful life. In my practice I help those looking for peace and balance. Those looking to understand themselves better, find direction, or get out of a rut can also benefit from therapy. Sex and sexuality are an important part of our self worth and our relationships. People are often ashamed to seek help for issues regarding sex, which is sad because there is so much that can be done to make sex a rewarding part of life. My approach is an eclectic mix of many therapeutic techniques, with a strong emphasis on cognitive and solution focused therapies. I tailor fit my approach to each individual and their unique circumstances. I have approximately 19 years experience as a therapist, and am undergoing intensive training in the field of sex therapy. All types of couples are welcome regardless of marital status, gender or sexual orientation I am a member of the LGBTQ Therapists Guild. I also enjoy working with women's issues, divorce issues, faith crisis and exiting religion issues.

Life can be challenging. The situations that it presents often feel overwhelming and knowing where to turn and what to do can feel as though it is consuming our energy, thoughts, time and happiness. As a therapist I have focused on developing skills to assist in overcoming these challenges that often take the form of anxiety, depression, and trauma. When we struggle with these conditions it negatively affects our physical health, relationships and self-image while leaving us with pain and suffering. I have been trained in EMDR therapy to assist with treating these uncomfortable conditions and begin the process of healing. This treatment focuses on identifying unhelpful thought processes and the uncomfortable emotions that accompany them. It then works to alter these unhelpful beliefs and leaves a sense of peace and relief from feeling overwhelmed. I invite anyone who feels as though life's challenges are consuming their thoughts, feelings, time and energy to acknowledge that there is a way out. You are not alone and there are people willing to help. I encourage you to make the decision to reduce suffering and begin the process of healing though psychotherapy. It can be life changing.

Emotional pain is a beacon that something in our lives needs to change. Therapy helps, and doesn’t have to be painful or intimidating. I am aware that what you share may be very personal or may feel shameful. I'm here to help you connect with parts of yourself that we are often given very little information about (sexual health), and I invite you to share these difficult feelings in a safe space. My clinical focus is mainly sex therapy, women's low sexual desire & sexual pain. I also run groups for these concerns (see below). I can help you learn to manage unwanted pornography viewing, fixed erotic interests (fetishes), sexless marriages and affairs. I treat anxiety, depression, grief, pet loss, and general life 'issues' that make daily living hard. I specialize in using a values-based approach. I also work with conflicts related to faith/belief systems, and mixed-faith marriages. I am an AASECT certified sex therapist. AASECT certified Sex Therapists use specialized clinical skills and theoretical knowledge to help people solve their sexual concerns. NOTE: Sex therapy does NOT include physical touch.
