Every person goes through transitions in their lives. Spiritual transitions can be some of the more difficult. Anger, loneliness, and confusion can come up to rear their ugly head when you need the strength and understanding to move forward. This can be a very difficult time because it is almost like losing one's identity. Being able to move towards a happier life that is more congruent with who you want to be can be done with some hard work. Looking in can help calm the noise and clear the path for this journey. The first step can be the hardest but can lead down a rewarding path of self-discovery. Instead of throwing the baby out with the bathwater, it is time to look toward your values to help navigate through this confusing time. Getting to know yourself again can be a freeing experience. Doing work through acceptance, values, mindfulness, and commitment methods can help identify and live these values for life with or without religion or faith. This path may be hard but can be very freeing and empowering. These were many of the feelings that I had when going through this myself. If you are ready to take the first steps of the journey toward a more inclusive, happy, and more true self value-based life, set up an appointment and let us start the journey together.

I hope to establish a therapeutic team with you. I have experience helping clients experiencing the aftermath of unresolved adverse childhood experiences, post-traumatic stress, complex PTSD, intergenerational trauma, survivors of intimate partner violence, and other forms of abuse. I also work with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, attachment ruptures, life transitions, family dynamics, inter and intrapersonal conflict, and ADHD. I am a native Spanish speaker and conduct therapy in English and Spanish. I also understand in-depth the different subcultures and the challenges between generations within the Latino community. View 6 Photos As a trauma clinician, I assist my clients with making connections between their past and present experiences. I am an Emdria EMDR Certified therapist and consultant in training. EMDR is a highly effective modality to heal trauma and treat trauma-related disorders. When talk therapy doesn’t make much of a difference, EMDR can lead to significant healing. This is an invitation to establish a therapeutic alliance with me, where you and I can be aligned so that you feel safe while authentically vulnerable and be seen and understood. I firmly believe this is a key element of healing. As the expert in your life, my role is to come along to offer genuine openness, empathy, tools, and a different perspective.

Taking the initial step to go to therapy isn’t an easy one. You may be feeling hurt, unsafe, scared, exhausted, lonely, or even desperate. The list is endless. You finally gathered the courage to seek for help and really hope to find a welcoming therapist that will make you feel safe and accepted as you are. I hope to create that kind of welcoming and safe environment for you, because I believe that when these conditions are present, healing is much more likely to occur. As a therapist and certified BodyTalk practitioner, I look to the whole person and work from the understanding that the body and the mind affect each other. As such, I combine traditional and alternative therapies. Some of the modalities I use are Gestalt, IFS, EMDR, BodyTalk and EFT tapping. To find out more about my therapies visit the website below. We all have a built-in mechanism that leads us towards healing. However, stressors, unhealthy mindsets, traumatic experiences, and an increased lack of self-awareness diminish this self-healing process. My goal is to help you unlock your own ability to heal and not simply feel better but also achieve a higher quality of life.

While you are uniquely special, your struggles are more common than you think. We all have challenges, and often in very universal ways. It’s all part of the human experience. I believe in the power of processing feelings and experiences as a way of helping us make sense of them. It can be profoundly healing to have a safe space in which to be affirmed and productively challenged. Together we can explore issues related to ambivalence, shame, resilience, boundaries, connection, confidence, and self-development in order to help you fully show up in your life. I enjoy working with clients who feel marginalized by society (especially the LGBTQ+ Community), those who have complex trauma histories, and clients seeking support with grief and loss. I utilize a variety of evidence-based methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution Focused Therapy. I believe that you are the foremost expert on yourself; my role is to support you and guide you to become the best version of that self. I create a safe space for you to explore your feelings and make meaningful changes in your life.
