Hey there, I'm Calen. I don’t believe in robotic blank-slate therapy. In sessions with me, you can expect a human who also experiences the good and the difficult things in life. You might laugh with me, have fun with me, or cry with me, and all are a part of the human experience. I’m down-to-earth, warm, light-hearted, and collaborative. Therapy is a mix of what you make it; some willingness for change, some curiosity, and mutual trust to explore difficult things together and celebrate wins together. I specialize in anxiety/depression, self-esteem, trauma, relational/familial concerns, abuse, and communication/boundaries. I’m a therapist that sees a therapist. I do the work in my personal therapy that I ask of the people who see me. I’ve felt what it’s like to learn how to be vulnerable with someone and let them see the scared parts of me. My primary goals are for you to feel believed in, supported, and empowered to make the changes you want to see in your life. Having done this for years on the client side, I work to make myself and the therapy process as transparent as possible. I do regular check-ins to make sure you’re getting what you need and that you have a chance to ask questions. There aren’t many spaces in our lives where we let our guard down safely; I hope therapy can be that for you as it has for me.
