I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults navigating a broad range of emotional, behavioral, and relationship concerns. My specialty is in working with trauma and children ages 3-10. I have advanced training as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and in Child-Centered Play Therapy. As a therapist, I provide a supportive, egalitarian counseling relationship and believe in working alongside clients to maximize their strengths and help them achieve their goals. With my training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, I help my clients learn how their thoughts and feelings relate to their behaviors. I also incorporate a trauma-focused and mindfulness-based approach to therapy to better understand clients within the context of their experiences and help them learn to be more accepting of themselves. In working with children, I use play therapy which allows children to express themselves in their natural language. My child clients experience a relationship with a safe adult who responds empathetically, sets limits, returns responsibility to the child, builds self-esteem, and facilitates emotional expression.
