Beneath all of our disappointments, losses, and heartbreaks, we all want to be valued for who we are, accepted for how we feel, and respected for what we think. I will encourage you to cultivate present moment awareness and self-compassion for the painful difficulties, challenging life circumstances, and to the inner narrative that keeps you stuck in habitual patterns of reacting. While fear and doubt may obscure your perspective, we will work together to help you develop strength-based skills and capacities for moving through challenges. I will help you access your inner wisdom for cultivating trust, balance, clarity, & connection. I use a mindfulness-based approach that helps you develop skills and tools to loosen the grip of overwhelming thoughts and worry about the future and soothe feelings of regret and sorrow from the past. Learning to live in present moment awareness empowers you to embrace all of your life in each unfolding moment with greater acceptance, aliveness, and peace. My training in Mind-Body Medicine, IFS, CBT, Positive Psychology, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, meditation and yoga therapy and work in private practice, clinics, schools, psychiatric wards has provided me with a diverse set of clinical skills that relieve symptoms of depression, anxiety, trauma, attentional challenges, grief, and relationship issues.

If you are dealing with mental health such as anxiety or depression, PTSD/Trauma, or even a behavioral issue with your child and you would like help in forging forward. You don't have to struggle on your own. Feeling like you have to deal with these difficulties alone is a misconception. If your goal is to find understanding of what is going on with yourself or your child and find balance and acceptance through learning and practice of new skills or being able to proccess through the issues I can help you through. My grandma taught me that F.A.I.L doesn't mean failure. F.A.I.L just means First Attempt In Learning. I speacialize in taking a value based approach. With this in most cases we work together to find your values and what will lead you on the path to those values. With trauma it is different and I understand that it takes time to proccess and work through it. At the end of the day, my therapeutic approach is geared to meet your specific needs. I am fluent in ACT, CBT, and person centered. Please contact me to see if I am the right fit for you to assist in your journey to the next chapter of your life. If not I can hopefully point you in the right direction of what you are needing.

I provide in-person and teletherapy services. I offer outdoor based therapy interventions where we will often meet at public park settings. I have found that Ecotherapy can be a successful technique for individuals who struggle with life transitions, self esteem, depression, anxiety, and PTSD. The activities can vary depending on the season and person. Some examples are: forest bathing, fishing, folfing, snowshoeing, forest foraging, swimming, rafting, skiing etc. Ecotherapy is an alternative approach which may be useful to you if you struggled with traditional in-office therapies. Ecotherapy is an alternative approach that combines the inherit benefits of being in nature with psychotherapy. Nature has been proven to benefit our physical and mental health in a variety of ways and I wish to capitalize that benefit to help you with your personal struggles. Mental health struggles are often complex and deeply entrenched in our lives. They can take time to understand and work through. Sometimes we need an alternative type of therapy to work through these struggles. I aim to provide that service to you if you are seeking therapy for the first time or have worked with other therapists.

AUTHENTICITY, ALIVENESS, and CONNECTION are vital ingredients to living a healthy and meaningful life. Unfortunately these qualities do not always receive the proper attention needed to thrive. As a result, we develop coping strategies that often lead us to not getting what we want in life, leaving us feeling stuck, anxious, depressed, and hopeless. Therapy provides a unique opportunity to explore the unconscious patterns that keep us stuck. Therapy can help you make meaningful change to live the life you wish and to create the relationships you long for. I help individuals, couples, adolescents and families create necessary and meaningful changes in their lives, relationships, or with family members. Whether you are feeling stuck in your own life, or with your intimate partner/marriage, or navigating challenging dynamics with your family, I can support you to engage authentic and meaningful change. Each session is customized to support whatever needs arise in each session. I practice integrating a number of evidence based practices with attunement and empathy. I understand everyone has a plethora of different contexts--race, gender, sexuality, class, etc, that shape who we are and how we experience ourself and the world. I hold this with respect.

Therapy is a chance for us to come together and collaborate so that we can help you build the life you want to live. I am particularly interested in helping adolescents and young adults navigate depression, anxiety, LGBTQ identity, school and work-related challenges, and the challenges of making major life transitions. I use a variety of approaches, since everyone comes to therapy with different needs and experiences, and no one method works for everyone. My perspective is predominantly informed by the principles of cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness, and narrative therapy. I love helping people develop into their fullest selves. I look forward to working with you and helping you achieve your goals!

I believe in a safe and open relationship between client and therapist is the foundation of change, and I value getting to know each of my clients to best understand your experiences. I believe in identifying and using your strengths and values to help you progress toward your therapy goals. Social justice is an important value of mine, and I work with clients to identify systemic factors that impact you, your relationships, and your mental health, to view the bigger picture of client problems and avoid over-pathologizing clients, especially those from marginalized communities. My training as a generalist has prepared me to work with a variety of client concerns such as anxiety; depression; trauma; identity, relational and/or family problems. I have a passion for working with clients with concerns unique to the LGBTQ+ community. I am also trained in trauma-informed therapy, including EMDR. I am an affirming individual who highly values equity, inclusion, and justice. I have received specialized training in the treatment of sexual concerns and couple therapy. I am also trained in EMDR (Eye-Movement, Desensitization, and Reprocessing), an approach to therapy useful when healing from trauma(s). I look forward to our work together!

If we have learned anything from the pandemic, it is that we all need and thrive in relationships. Therapy is an important tool for developing and nurturing positive relationships, both with others and with yourself. Using my training as a marriage and family therapist, my life experiences and love of people, I foster a safe, warm, non-judgmental environment. I believe that it is not the challenges or traumas that form us, but how we respond to them. Collaboratively we can build resiliency as we discover and heal the obstacles that interfere with you having a deeper, more meaningful life. I enjoy working with both couples and individuals who are grappling with a variety of life challenges; life changes, including health issues, career goals, trauma, loss, anxiety or mood disorders. As each individual is unique, I use an integrative approach to best fit each couple or individual. My style is direct and supportive and focuses on your strengths. If your are looking for therapy to address your life’s challenging issues or want to explore your goals and dreams and purpose, I would love to go on that journey with you. Adoptees are often a silent population due to challenges surrounding the issue of trust. Needs for this population may include difficulties connecting with others, difficulty with self esteem & making decisions to appease others rather than for themselves. Goals are often directly linked to these issues. How do I know? I have both lived experiences as a former foster child & adoptee who then used those experiences to launch me into the field of psychotherapy where I accrued over 20 years of experience. Learning to trust & knowing who we are as adoptees is an important part of the healing work we will do together. I offer individual, family & couples Adoptee Counseling sessions to adoptees & their adoptive families who are ready to begin addressing the needs which often accompany the role of being an adoptee. Acceptance, connection & trust are some of the issues which we can explore together in our online confidential sessions. I understand how challenging it can be for adoptees to reach out to others as a result of trust issues & the ability to acknowledge their own emotional needs. If you're an adoptee or an adoptive family member, are over the age of 16 and ready to begin this important work of self care & self identity, I'm here to walk along side you on your journey.

I specialize in using mindfulness-based approaches to treat clients struggling with general & social anxiety; depression; identity development; authentic self-expression & embodiment; coping with life transitions; identifying best choices for life path & finding one's purpose; integrating psychedelic or spiritual experiences; boundary setting; & communicating effectively in relationship. My approach to therapy focuses on empowering clients by to direct their life's course with confidence & know-how, providing skills for successful emotional regulation & creating therapeutic opportunities for developing self-knowledge & inner-wisdom. My work has led me to believe in the human capacity for emotional health & resilience under even the toughest of circumstances. In treatment, I nourish this capacity by using evidence-based interventions, an appreciation for the spontaneous & the playful, and drawing on what I know has worked well in the past with other clients facing similar challenges. I am continually humbled by how the therapeutic journey is defined by the ways in which it is unique to each traveler, not by similarities. I always keep this in mind when working with clients.
