I am a Psychoanalyst and New York State Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I received my Master's Degree in Social Work from New York University and postgraduate education at Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy. I have been in private practice for more than twenty years. I am a compassionate and caring psychotherapist who will respect your feelings while working through issues of concern for your well-being. I believe that being curious about yourself and how you are in the world is a big part of the therapeutic action. I use an eclectic approach adapting the different theories of psychology appropriately to the needs of the individual (or couple). Working together dynamically, through a mutual dialogue, we can explore and become curious regarding all areas of concern in your life. I am also the Founder and Director of The Talk Suite. I have hand-selected each therapist on The Talk Suite team, sharing with them my philosophy, expertise and passion for my work. I encourage our team to use an eclectic and flexible approach to the way in which we practice therapy; adapting different theories of psychology to the individual needs of our clients.

I hold the belief that we are all much more similar than different. We all want and need many of the same emotional, interpersonal, and internal things... self-respect, respect from others, security, love, safety, an internal sense of power and self-efficacy, to know we matter in the world. Within our sameness, though, the spark of uniqueness is what sets us apart, and that flame needs to be fanned and nurtured. I am a straight cis woman, a loud and proud LGBTQ+ ally, a staunch BLM supporter, a social liberal, a believer in science. As a devout vegan and animal rights activist, I remain respectful yet powerful in my position. My world is populated by people whose beliefs are diverse, and I am steadfastly supportive and encouraging of individuality, while believing that all opinions are most powerful when supported by verifiable facts. I am honored and humbled by the faith and trust my patients place in me, and work assiduously to continue to deserve it.

I am Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a private practice in Newport Beach CA and a graduate of Pepperdine University. My primary treatment approach is psychodynamic psychotherapy. Ideal clients are adult individuals who are committed to doing the challenging work of therapy. I help clients recognize and use existing problem-solving capabilities and teach new skills as needed. I help clients understand why their life doesn't seem to get any better, and why they can keep picking the same type of partner or repeat ineffective behavior. Clients learn how family of origin patterns from childhood can keep repeating and how to change these and other ineffective relationship patterns. Before becoming a therapist, I worked as a mechanical engineer and technical manager. I often teach logical thinkers about emotions and how relationships work. Women learn how to get men to listen, so that they feel heard. Men learn how to meet women's emotional needs and to understand their own reactions in emotional situations.
