Do you realize the answers you seek exist within you? Life’s disruptions, losses and painful experiences leave negative imprints, which result in unpleasant symptoms like low self-esteem, limiting self-beliefs and negative thoughts about others and life. These experiences and the undesirable impacts cloud the part of you with all of the answers, your true essence. Together we will work to liberate you from the marks that past disturbances have left in order to be the healthiest and best version of your true self. Take a journey to intimately know and love yourself, and discover the roots of your thoughts, feelings and behaviors. I use a combination of transformational therapeutic modalities to facilitate your healing journey such as Advanced Integrative Therapy (AIT), Trauma Resolution Energy Therapy (TRET), Transactional Analysis (TA - Ego States), Redecision Therapy (a combination of experiential therapy using TA and Gestalt Therapy) and talk therapy. In my experience, the combination of these therapies provides relief from the current symptoms of depression or anxiety as well as certain physical symptoms (unfelt feelings) by identifying and processing the originating causes and treating them.

Welcome to my profile! I am honored to take this moment to share a bit about my counseling approach and philosophy of helping. I believe that individuals have within themselves the power and tools to improve the quality of their lives. I am passionate about providing a welcoming place to assist individuals in becoming more aware of what they want and need, the choices they have in life, and their own potential to heal. I view counseling as a collaborative process of building on the strengths and assets of clients and promote these to maximize life satisfaction and healthy living. My work is guided by the values of compassion, collaboration, acceptance, and client autonomy. I focus on guiding clients to live their best lives and acknowledge their own ideas for behavior change. If counseling is successful, you should feel stronger in your ability to face life's challenges and uncover personal strengths. I utilize many techniques in counseling, primarily designed to increase awareness, provide encouragement, challenge faulty cognitive patterns, and clarify and explore goals of behavior. I am an expert in Motivational Interviewing and use this model as one primary intervention. I also provide clinical assessment services at the client's request.

Making that first call is a big step, and taking care of your mental health is so important. Anxiety can be extremely overwhelming and debilitating but relief is possible. I believe that mental health is similar to one's physical health. Just as we can hurt and thrive physically, so can we hurt and thrive psychologically and emotionally. I will work hard to meet you where you are, offering unconditional regard and emotional support. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. I have been practicing in the mental and behavioral health field since 2013. I have a range of experience, including PTSD, behavioral disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorders, anxiety, mood disorders, and relationship issues. For me, the ideal client would be someone who is ready to embark on their journey to find what they need or is missing from their life. Not all people need the same things to feel balanced or happy. Not all people experience the same things. Not all people are looking to get the same things out of therapy. With this information, my goal is to meet you where you are and to support you in building the life you are seeking. To the clients that may be apprehensive or unsure of what you need, that's okay too. I will explore this with you and help you to figure that out. As a counselor-intern, my goal is to assess your needs and meet you where you are. Therapy can be scary and is often a big step to take. However, my goal is to welcome you to a safe and unbiased environment to discuss what you need from me, as well as how I can help support you to overcome any challenges and to achieve your personal goals. I am a driven, patient, and goal-oriented. I have had personal hardships of my own that I have worked through and overcome. I have several years of experience working with children with autism. I also have experience working with clients who are experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, ADHD, eating disorders, and a history of trauma.

Once in a while everyone can use another set of eyes on an issue, or a wiser perspective from 30,000 feet. An experienced counselor/coach/guide in private practice since 1993, I offer results-driven, solution-focused counseling, communication training, conflict resolution, and business coaching. And we can unravel the National epidemic of elongated adolescence, the obvious three E's of narcissism, and children raising children, one client at a time. My Master's thesis addressed this in 1991 and it's getting worse. I would be honored to be part of your life, if even for a short while, until I retire in 2025 to write a book series. View 4 Photos My 200-page master's thesis, "The Relationship of Ego Development and Narcissistic Vulnerability to Divorce-Transition Impasse," details why people become stuck at impasse. I help adult clients grow up, view life from higher perspectives, to see that marriage is voluntary, is 80% manners, and like our Republic, is absolutely wonderful. "If you can keep it." Since 1993 clients have hired me as their realist, not to sit as a warm social presence, in which case I might suggest a puppy. I am warm & receptive but not gooey. Realistic but not harsh. I care deeply that you heal, strengthen, and will not rest until you succeed.

Navigating adolescence and young adulthood can be exciting for many. It can also be stressful, confusing and challenging to find your way. Whether you are figuring out what to do after high school or college, entering the "real world" of working full time, dealing with relationship issues or trying to figure out what to do next, I can help to support you on your path. This time in your life does not have to be so scary and uncertain with the right tools and frame of mind. I have dedicated the majority of my career working with adolescents and young adults which is a true joy of mine. I enjoy the energy and enthusiasm that comes with interacting with young people. More important helping my clients deal with the many issues and struggles that accompany being young. Having worked in multiple settings including outpatient, in-home services, mobile crisis, inpatient, juvenile detention, and a university I understand how the different levels of care operate. I am well connected to many resources and value quality of fit for the client/therapist relationship.
