James works from a strength-based perspective utilizing DBT mindfulness skill building. The primary focus is to decrease anxiety and increase self-soothing and coping strategies that benefit the client. Person centered and solutions focused techniques to help client’s meet their goals. James also has over a decade of experience working with adolescents/adults with chronic mental health issues and Autism Spectrum, in educational, Residential, community, and clinical settings.
He has worked with Native America families, individuals, and adolescents on a variety of issues to including physical, and emotional, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, self-injurious, PTSD, and suicidal thoughts. Working with different modalities solution focus, career counseling, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectic behavioral therapy, and tcbt.
My approach to counseling is to provide sound services to meet the needs of my clients. My goal is to provide self-soothing and coping strategies that benefit the client to help them heal and empower them for their life goals and free them from being overwhelmed by past mistakes and worrying about future events. To resolve past pain, trauma, and neglect.
