Are you struggling with anxiety, depression, or feelings of not measuring up in some way? Is it tied into an eating disorder, body image, relationships, parenting, perfectionism, performance, major life changes, or substance use that has you feeling this way? Most likely life feels like a bloody slog, but it doesn't have to be. Nor do you have to do it alone. As a therapist, I don't judge and I don't tell you what to do. I'm a guide, educator, and motivator who will work as hard as you're willing to work so you can have a full, happy life.
DUDE stands for Developing Understanding, Developing Empathy. The starting point is identify the real issue(s), how it developed, and how you treat it. That's "understanding." Then you have to "develop empathy" for yourself and the struggling. Face the issues, be courageous, ask for help. You can't break a stick in a bundle. Build your unbreakable team.
I consider myself a "wounded healer," someone who has suffered from depression, anxiety, eating disorders, substance abuse, and self-harm in my life. It affected my relationships, performance in all areas of my life from sports to music to school and work. I did the therapy because I was ready to do the work. If you're ready to do it too, let's get to work.
