Recent Updates From Courtney E
Last updated | Monday March 24, 2025

Do you ever have that feeling that there’s some part of yourself or your story that you have to hide, and if people could see the real you, they wouldn’t accept you? It's easy to believe that some parts of you are acceptable, but others aren’t. In therapy, my goal is to create a place that’s safe enough for you to share those parts, in your own time. And then something magical can happen: you can discover that you’re actually acceptable and lovable exactly as you are. To paraphrase Carl Rogers, you will find the curious paradox that acceptance creates change.
Often people with these feelings have had some difficulties in life or in the family in which they grew up, including childhood abuse or lack of nurture, creating anxiety, depression, PTSD and more. I utilize a variety of techniques to bring symptom relief including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and emotion- and body-based therapies.
If this sounds like what you’re looking for, I hope you’ll reach out, and I look forward to walking with you through the process of acceptance and real change. You may have questions about therapy or any part of the process, and if you contact me, I'd be happy to help answer them. Please visit www.courtneyhoward.net for more information.
