Recent Updates From Joan Frimmer
Last updated | Tuesday February 18, 2025

For over 30 years I've treated adolescents and adults who experience anxiety, depression, substance abuse, and problems with eating. Additionally, I work with couples improving their communication skills, as well as the difficulty dealing with divorce. Working with individuals as well as groups, I assist them with the challenges of parenting.
As a professional social worker, I approach my practice with an appreciation for all the aspects of my clients' lives, their history and present and how those impact my clients.
When appropriate, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, a technique that teaches the skills clients can use throughout life in order to be less vulnerable to irrational thinking that then may lead to anxiety and or depression.
