We often forget that our first experience of the world is a shared one; that by nature we are relational beings. Which is why therapy can be so powerful. My job is to help you move away from the things that no longer work (perhaps never did), and toward a preferred way of being. Our process together is one of discovery & transformation, and honors both what you are and what you are becoming. You and I will collaborate to create an environment that is safe and supportive (I don't do that alone -- only you know what is safe). Through compassion & curiosity, our therapy will find new narratives and make meaning of old ones.
There is what you might call a "preferred self," whose story you are most interested in exploring and nurturing. My aim is to support your preferred experience of self, and help you in living out narratives that support the development and emergence of your preferred self.
My areas of expertise: trauma and couples. Specific trauma includes PTSD, sexual assault, domestic violence. This applies to couples and individuals. I also practice EMDR.
