Recent Updates From Merrill Beth
Last updated | Monday February 17, 2025

I have been practicing as a licensed mental health professional for over 30 years. I have a Masters in Counseling Psychology obtained in 1989 from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon. I was licensed in Oregon until my move to New Hampshire where I became licensed in the state of NH. I am an active member of the NH Mental Health Counseling Association. I have experience working in inpatient and day treatment hospital settings, community mental health, private practices and have spent over 17 years with a regional hospital in both their group psychology practice and co-located in a medical practice.
I incorporate different styles of treatment based on the needs of the clients I work with including but not limited to CBT, DBT and mindfulness. Most importantly I hope to develop a safe and trusting environment for clients to look closely at themselves with a non-judgmental awareness of their internal experiences and behaviors so to enable healthy growth.
Clients often describe me as kind, calm, engaged, helpful and a good listener. My style is to be interactive with clients, to develop treatment goals that are achievable so treatment can be seen as having an endpoint. I believe clients can engage in episodes of treatment throughout their lives rather than staying in therapy indefinitely.
