Recent Updates From Rebecca Hillel
Last updated | Wednesday March 26, 2025

We all need connection. At the same time, there is much that makes it hard for us to openly share parts of ourselves with others. We may find ourselves in a bind of wanting to be close with people, yet feel like it is not okay to express certain feelings. We may even tell ourselves that being vulnerable is weak. Taken altogether, we may inadvertently get in our own way while we are trying to protect ourselves. These dynamics can have costs in our relationships, work, and ability to enjoy life – costs that sometimes we recognize and sometimes others in our life may point out.
In psychotherapy, I aim to create a collaborative space in which you can explore the many aspects of yourself and your relationships with others. I hope to help you relate to yourself and others the way you want to. I focus on the therapeutic relationship as a microcosm of patterns that play out in your other relationships in order to become aware of and work through barriers to connection.
I received a doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Denver and completed postdoctoral work in psychodynamic psychotherapy and psychological assessment at Cambridge Health Alliance/Harvard Medical School. Throughout my work, I have found it meaningful to help people wrestle with the conflicted parts of themselves and, in doing so, free them up to live in a more genuine, connected, empowered, and fuller way.
