You just had a baby and to your unfortunate surprise, you are not well. Everything has changed from your relationship to your husband, your body, yourself and your work. It’s all now different. And while parts of it are good, like really really good, there’s something keeping you from being a better version of you and it’s creating toxicity. There is some part of you that is afraid you actually have lost your mind and there is also some part of you that is having a very hard time staying on your best behavior. Of course everything that you’re feeling is perfectly justified and that’s how it feels to you, but not one person gets it. View 10 Photos And in that deep water as you drown, you are watching life go by. Moments are passing and you are aware that you have not yet drowned. But you’re stuck in the deep dark water. I know how to get you out. I know what it’s like to be there, I know exactly what you need to do and it’s not easy. In fact, it can be really hard, but it’s worth it. You are in there. These sessions empower you to take charge of your health, to live in a more healthy relationship with yourself and truly love, and most importantly to choose your direction going forward by connecting what’s happening in the mind (your thoughts), what’s happening in your emotions (how you feel) to what’s happening in your body (your physical condition).

It is a courageous act to trust others with our innermost cognitive and emotional experiences: our pain, our worries, our anger, even our hopes and aspirations. Pause for a moment to recognize yourself for considering this step in your journey. I believe in empowering individuals through a collaborative therapeutic approach, and will work with you to determine what works for you. At baseline, I implement a healthy striving framework which highlights a belief that even our most troubling thoughts and behaviors stem from healthy desires to achieve a lasting sense of balance, belonging, or safety. I'm not taking new clients at this time. I provide individual and couples therapy for people wanting to improve mental, emotional, relational, and/or spiritual health. I treat: anxiety; depression; relational issues; self-esteem issues; abuse/trauma/PTSD; coping for stress and/or chronic pain/illness; lack of meaning or purpose in life. If you are experiencing low mood, stress/panic, hopelessness, bothersome thoughts and feelings about a traumatic event, feel you are in a relationship with a significant other or family member where negative patterns have taken hold, or you feel you are not living to your full potential, I can help. I specialize in 1) Mindfulness practices that treat the whole person - mind, body, & spirit 2) Trauma & dissociation where I use Brainspotting, EMDR and other trauma recovery methods. The goal in these approaches is to help a client reconnect to their full self, tapping inner strengths and wisdom that lead to healing, peace, and reawakened purpose. It is frustrating to feel stuck in a routine or behavior that you know isn't working. You can heal and release the past so that something new - something that works and feels right can unfold. These therapies help to reconnect mind, body, and spirit, waking up innate healing that has you more able to both enjoy the moment and face challenges.

I know the path of healing that I have created. Born two months early, I haven't ever, consistently and truly felt safe. My nervous system didn't have true co-regulation, and my mom had to stay in a different hospital. Growing up in a loud family (lots of yelling), and then having people's imposed high expectations to become my own perfectionism. We can only push for so long... My crash came almost 10 years ago, I was an alcoholic with depression, and became so shame-filled and overwhelmed, I attempted suicide. My bottom was low. My goal is to help people begin to learn to slowly titrate a safe co-regulative space, which begins with small cues of safety, becoming safe enough to trust, and as I draw their own resources from within them, they learn how to notice, name, and get to know parts of themselves they may not even think about; those learned pattern from childhood. I have landed and stayed in recovery, and I also understand the need to numb out the overwhelm feels incredibly dangerous, because of the stress it causes in our system. And because the mind and body are energetically connected, so we need to work with both. My passion is from experience, and my mission is to create safety in individuals, communities, schools... to build less reactivity between us, reaching wider and wider audiences, to create openness and stop 'us vs them'. Humans are messy. So, lets create a safe container where we can be messy with each other.
