I enjoy working collaboratively with individuals who are seeking healing and change. Anxiety, panic, depression, conflict, stress, impact of trauma, OCD, and communication challenges are all areas where I can be most effective working with my patients. My specialty is TEAM-CBT, a form of CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). I find that using this approach with my clients makes it possible to reach their desired outcome rapidly and effectively and empowers them with methods they can apply to maintain their progress moving forward. Embarking on a journey of self-exploration and self-improvement through the process of therapy is a profound experience. I am honored to have an opportunity to work together with you to help you meet your personal goals for change.

Prior to becoming a licensed professional counselor I worked in a number of related counseling areas. Our histories create in us the skills to manage or mismanage; to be brave or be fearful; to trust and mistrust and to know when to love or love till it hurts. Do you often find that as you make your way through life you encounter self doubt, frightening levels of hopelessness and fear? As you struggle with these questions, issues and feeling, your struggle may be weighed down by a sense of fear as to who to trust and how to love. I work with families and individuals. Couples struggling with their relationship; the parent living with the challenging adolescent who questions; the pre-adolescent struggling to validate and create their own identity. The individual who comes in hopeless. My goal is to help my clients learn skills and gain understanding for a more full-filling life. My practice is small, with a homey atomshpere where the individual, couple and/or family can feel safe in sharing what is on their heart and mind. Therapy is a learning experience. I desire for my clients to leave with knowledge, skills and insight to use daily to enrich their lives.

Let's work together! I can offer education, a sounding board, and opportunities for insight as you reflect and work to improve your life and that of your loved ones. With practical tools and a compassionate heart, your journey can become more effective, more satisfying. My hope is that therapy becomes a place where you step into the office, away from the busy pace of life, a place where you step further into yourself. Knowing yourself and having the tools to gain that knowledge can be pivotal to your well-being and that of your family's. Over the last 25 years I have cultivated specialties with seniors, adults, children and teens. I know there are times in life when speed bumps are hit and it can involve individuals or the entire family. Together we can sort out the issues and work to resolve the conflicts. As a parent of four, I have personal experience with parenting children with adoption concerns, attachment challenges, special needs and learning concerns. I am also a trauma and EMDR specialist, certified at level two.
