I work with clients whose psychological issues cross the boundaries between brain, body, mind, and spirit. Special interests are the broad spectrum of ADHD and related brain differences, and the stress caused by living with these in a misunderstanding society. My approach integrates mindfulness practices, attention and working memory training, with depth psychology (dreamwork, a symbolic and imaginative approach to life, seeking meaning beneath constriction). Because neuropsychological issues raise questions of meaning, self-worth, and place in the world, these are central to my work. Unfortunately, our culture often sees ADHD as laziness or irresponsibility rather than what it is: a brain difference with positive as well as negative potentials. I help clients understand and challenge this distortion. The uniqueness of my approach is that I integrate cognitive-behavioral practices like breathing, executive function training, and neurofeedback with depth psychological therapy and mindfulness. The mind and body exist in a profound relationship of mutual influence; therefore, it is most effective to work with both at once.

Telehealth Counseling and Coaching throughout the US. While working with people, I help them work through the process of engagement, healing, and growth. My initial approach is to see the greatness of a person. I work with people to help them see their own greatness noting that their behaviors do not define them. The behavior is unhealthy, not the person. Who a person is at the core is always great, healthy, and beautiful. As we pull apart maladaptive behaviors from the individual, I help people become actively engaged in their own therapeutic process beginning a journey of healing and growth. With formal training in EMDR, Brainspotting, and DBT, I have a focus in trauma, anxiety, depression, and inter-personal relationships. By using various modalities, I am able to help the client find the best modality for them. We work through current concerns while also exploring deeper connected layers of trauma, depression, and anxiety. If you are looking to being a path of reviewing both current concerns and deeper patterns that contributed to current concerns, please know there is hope and healing is possible. Please do not hesitate to connect for an initial chat to review my style and to see if it fits for you. Healing is possible.

As an adult survivor of child abuse who overcame a hard childhood to create success, you are good at problem solving and powering through, but you experience a disconnection from your feelings, your body, and your relationships. You are good at pulling it together, putting your feelings aside and focusing to get things done. When you aren’t numb inside, you feel anxious until you find a way to numb out again. I will help you feel safe to experience your body and your emotions, and to find safety in relationships. I’ll be in your corner, offering encouragement, deconstructing patterns, and strategizing with you as you navigate challenges and find your path. You don’t have to numb out to get through your life. You can feel your feelings without being afraid of them, allowing more joy back into your days. Together we will find the strategies to create safety in your body, your emotions, and in your relationships. I help people change patterns, break cycles, recover and thrive. Sometimes you can see the demons clearly; they might be anxiety, persistent and unmanageable anger, depression or feelings of worthlessness. But sometimes you don't see them because they've become such a part of your life; then those demons may take the form of frequent struggles with a boss at work, a pervasive sense of emptiness, or a series of failed relationships. My work is about helping individuals and couples with their demons.

I serve Alaska and Montana clients virtually. People come to therapy seeking growth and healing. Many seek the benefits of more insight into themselves and their responses to their day to day lives. People seek relief from things like anxiety and depression, wanting to find another way to feel about themselves and their lives. I have a strong interest in working to support healing from trauma. I believe we are all able to grow, to experience relief, and to heal. View 5 Photos I use tools including EMDR, somatic, clinical hypnosis and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), as well as other trauma-informed approaches. I work with trauma, attachment, depression, anxiety, and stress. My goal is to help clients notice and appreciate their strength, while gaining new insight and opportunities for moving forward. Are you feeling stuck? Many people seek therapy when they feel stuck with a mental health problem, such as depression, anxiety, unwanted relationship patterns, or difficulty recovering from a painful experience. Others may be struggling to cope with external sources of stress, like discrimination, abuse, or trauma. As a Licensed Psychologist, I help patients get unstuck by providing therapy that is supportive, confidential, and challenging. By helping you step out of your comfort zone, we can find new ways of coping with the problems you are struggling with or avoiding. My approach to therapy usually includes an exploration of a patient's relationship experiences and emotional attachments to other people. Many of my patients find this approach helpful because stress, anxiety, and unresolved emotional pain often affect how we connect with others. I know from my own past experience how overwhelming it can feel to find a new therapist, so I'm glad you're taking these steps to get help for yourself. I look forward to talking with you about how I can help. Please feel free to reach out by email, phone, or by appointment request through my website.
