Most people looking for a relationship therapist wish they could make changes, but don't know how. What they have tried has not worked. Everyone has irresolvable issues. Never do we have the exact same desire for money in the bank, sexual frequency, social activities, neatness, or parenting ideas (etc.) This is built-in conflict. This built-in conflict carries with it the seeds for growth and connection that would not happen in any other way. Living in distress is so awful and so curable. What I do is start with creating safety, so it is safe for you to talk to your partner and be heard, from there needed conversations can occur. We all want to be seen and heard. It is hard to see our partner when they refuse to see us. This is the basis for the power struggle that every client knows about. The frustrations that come from this power struggle offer growth and insight that cannot be obtained in any other way. It really can be easier, you can understand and apply what it takes to be connected again, or for the first time. I know how to show you this, I know how to bring you to understanding what to do next. I have helped many couples with these issues: I can help you.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Clinical Supervisor in AZ, I have gained over 35 years of “intrinsic value” helping adults, couples, and groups, manage stress, trauma, grief, mood, thoughts, various addiction cycles, suicidality, self-harm, reentry, and life transitions. I provide a “trauma-informed” approach by meeting you where you’re at, validating your experience, empowering breakthroughs to barriers that may be holding you back, and walking alongside as you gain valuable tools for success. I will show you “truth” (even when hard to see) and challenge your “perspective” to facilitate a strong foundation for healing. I also serve as a Person-Centered Clinical Supervisor for individuals seeking to become independently licensed therapists in the state of Arizona using individual and group supervision models. Having done my own personal work, which I believe is imperative for all behavioral health professionals, I strive for balance and wholeness for my supervisees.

Have you tried other forms of therapy or don't have confidence that counseling is going to help you? Brainspotting (BSP) may be the type of treatment that will assist you. Developed initially for PTSD, it has been found to be extremely effective in helping people overcome performance issues whether they are at work, home, athletically, or relationaly related. Whether it is trauma or anxiety symptoms that are the root cause of your problem, BSP can help you move beyond the negative beliefs and mental barriers that stem from these symptoms, to a place of peace, confidence, and improved well being. BSP is a client centered approach that empowers you toward positve change and control in your life again. It can help you to achieve your full potential at work, enjoy social situations, without anxiety, or perform with confidence. Along with BSP, I encourage personal growth through traditional therapies. I am one of a few therapists in the area trained completely in Imago Relationship Skills. Imago and BSP are a great combo for helping you reach a more satisfying, intimate, loving relationship without the old patterns. Did you know that you can do both of these virtually. I have experience with this and have found the online every bit as effective.

Life can feel overwhelming and unmanageable at times. Often those feelings can seep into your relationships and daily life, creating conflict and confusion. You can begin to question your worth and value to yourself and others, and you can begin to see everything through the lens of those feelings. The ways in which you try to cope with those feelings are often linked to experiences in your past, and they are likely keeping you from creating the fulfilling and meaningful present you desperately want. My purpose is to help you through the therapy process with support and compassion, and to help to provide you the tools you need to create the life you want. Using an integrative approach, I help clients begin to identify and overcome unhelpful patterns, and begin to heal and create a more connected, intentional, and authentic life. I walk through the journey with my clients, working through the struggle, acknowledging the experience and celebrating the accomplishments. Life can begin to feel manageable, and hope can become available to you once again through the therapy process. I invite you to reach out and take the next step toward building the life you want.
