Psychotherapy can be very helpful to many people who find life more difficult than they would like it to be. Starting psychotherapy is not easy and I will help you navigate appropriate treatment choices. When you come in, I will listen carefully to what you are going through. It is important for me that you feel safe and respected. Together we will try to understand your challenges and begin to make helpful changes. You will not be labeled. We will figure out the goals of treatment and work towards your goals at your own pace. I also conduct psychological and psychoeducational assessments for children, adolescents, and adults. If you need a diagnostic clarification, have questions about your child's learning or emotional functioning, then assessment can be tremendously useful. I will make sure that assessment recommendations are clear, and specific, and address your questions. I am authorized to practice telehealth psychotherapy in 33 states where PSYPACT is effective, including AL, AZ, AR, CA, CO, CT, CNMI, DC, DE, GA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, ME, MD, MN, MO, NE, NV, NH, NC, NJ, OH, OK, PA, TN, TX, UT, VA WV, WI.

I am a social worker who specializes in couples and sexual-related issues. I do a lot of work with couples around infidelity, trust and sexual issues. I spend much time helping couples overcome the aftermath of affairs and help lead them to a better relationship than they previously had. I also work with individuals with problems like depression, anxiety and loss. I do my sessions exclusively by video and phone and have done teletherapy for about five years. My style is very casual and thoughtful. And I have become very adept at doing teletherapy. I find that most of my clients prefer this format. In couples work, I teach that communication is different for men and women. I help couples and individuals with sexual issues like lack of desire, performance anxiety, dysfunction, coming out issues and relationship types (consensual nonmonogamy and monogamy) and navigating these. I am looking forward to hearing from you. I know that sexual and relationship issues can be difficult to discuss, but with my style I think you'll feel quite comfortable talking with me. You will find reaching out for the initial conversation with me that I am not judgemental in the least and that you will feel at ease speaking with me.

Live the life you want! In 20+ years of working with clients, I have developed a clinical style based on how I would like to be treated if I were the client; a respectful, relaxed atmosphere providing excellent care - sometimes even fun. I work collaboratively to clarify my client's problems and resources, to address their concerns and help them get to where they want to be in life. I don't label my clients and often see myself as a type of teacher or coach. Additionally I worked for 7 years in a major corporation and understand the real world. I have broad experience working with anxiety disorders, depression, trauma and related issues. A main practice method is Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. It examines our perceptions and behaviors and develops tools for change; other methods are used, an "eclectic" approach. I have specialty training for anxiety disorders & trauma (EMDR Level II). Experience, training and a relaxed, down-to-earth approach distinguishes my practice. I focus on helping my clients achieve the life that they want and developing the skills to keep it. I understand how hectic our world can be and offer flexibility in scheduling, including evening and weekend appointments.

I understand that making the decision to enter therapy is not always easy. Some therapists take on the role of identifying what is "wrong" with a client or how the client needs to be "fixed." I view my role as your therapist as helping you identify and utilize the healthy coping skills you already have to resolve issues. The answers are there, and I appreciate that you are more familiar with the issues than anyone else. I will work with you to reveal the path and help you get the obstacles out of the way, including the many ways we can be our own worst enemy. If you are interested in using my services, please email me: at 4onlineaccess@gmail.com with your date of birth and also text a photo of your insurance card & photo ID to 423.307.8373. I will establish your account at www.tccs.carepaths.com, and then you can log into your secure patient portal to complete documents and select your appointment. Until further notice, I am only offering telehealth services. In order to access TeleHealth, please log into your patient portal. Thank you for your understanding and patience with this situation.

Finding a therapist is a deeply personal journey and it can be stressful and traumatizing to explain the very core of who you are to someone who may not “get it.” I aim to understand your perspective and embrace all aspects of you in a non-judgmental space. I recognize that every individual brings their own perception of their needs and the world around them, so I place substantial focus on identity, culture, and environment. I also believe that therapy is a great way to continue the conversation with ourselves and transition to a space where we are able to lovingly embrace all aspects of our lives. My approach is built upon compassion, respect, and collaboration. I employ strengths and empowerment perspectives, which are cornerstones of the social work profession, and utilize mindfulness practices, EMDR, narrative therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and other evidence-based practices to support your growth. Recognizing that each individual has unique needs and expectations, I aim to ensure we are the right "fit" to meet your needs. When you are ready, we can schedule a phone consultation to discuss your needs and whether we both agree working together will be a good match. If we both would like to move forward, we can then schedule your first appointment.

Sometimes we get disconnected from important others in our life. We can even feel disconnected from ourselves. We doubt our decisions, question our thoughts, and dismiss our feelings. Traumatic events like combat or abusive relationships as well as unrelenting daily stresses can create this discontent. Even if you feel established personally and professionally, ongoing stressors can cause an "unsettling" that interrupts your quality of life. Having a safe place to explore those conflicts can be helpful. Even if you're right where you want to be, you may want the space of therapy to reach and understand deeper parts of yourself. View 6 Photos Not every therapist and client fit together perfectly, yet I can offer the listening and discernment that might help you in ways you need most. Psychotherapy is a unique experience that can yield much needed results. Whether you've tried therapy with another professional or are taking a first step in the process, I'll do my best to take the journey with you. In our work together we collaborate to help you find the questions that need answers and the changes needing to be made. You can then use those discoveries to live your life more fully. Sometimes people just need the right place to tell their story, explore themselves for who they really are, and begin writing the next chapters with dignity and self-respect.

If you've tried to figure it out on your own (or with google/social media support) but are now scrolling through psychology today analyzing therapists pictures who looks like they can help- welcome! You're not alone. The world of mental health can oftentimes feel stuffy and regimented but I strive to make it understandable, informative and to be a real person with you. It takes a skilled therapist to help you repair your tire (process, shift perspectives, problem solve and develop skills) and get back on the road to your desired destination (life goals/lifestyle, intentional living, and follow through). As a self-proclaimed psychology nerd I am trained in CBT, EMDR, DBT, TF- CBT, MST and I strive to provide the most informative care through a variety of learning theories. At the same time, I believe that a therapist's ability to connect on a non-judgmental/human level is just as important as any degree or certification they may have. I practice with the perspective of living intentionally based on YOUR identified values and finding creative ways (and sometimes making hard decisions) to accomplish this. Finding someone you can truly trust can be a difficult decision, please send an email if you're interested in working together. :)
