Are you fed up with feeling stuck? Tired of feeling miserable or unsatisfied? Has your partner finally agreed to couples counseling? Are your parents or teenager driving you nuts? The thought of talking to stranger about your problems can be intimidating, so call me or e-mail me just to see if we're comfortable with each other. If we are, then schedule an appointment. I can help you get unstuck. My specialties include adolescents, parenting issues, college students and adults. My approach is unique in that I am equally skilled at short-term solution-focused therapy, and longer-term intra-psychic work. I bring a special sensitivity to what adjustments my clients are, and are not ready to make at any given point in our work together.

I work with clients whose psychological issues cross the boundaries between brain, body, mind, and spirit. Special interests are the broad spectrum of ADHD and related brain differences, and the stress caused by living with these in a misunderstanding society. My approach integrates mindfulness practices, attention and working memory training, with depth psychology (dreamwork, a symbolic and imaginative approach to life, seeking meaning beneath constriction). Because neuropsychological issues raise questions of meaning, self-worth, and place in the world, these are central to my work. Unfortunately, our culture often sees ADHD as laziness or irresponsibility rather than what it is: a brain difference with positive as well as negative potentials. I help clients understand and challenge this distortion. The uniqueness of my approach is that I integrate cognitive-behavioral practices like breathing, executive function training, and neurofeedback with depth psychological therapy and mindfulness. The mind and body exist in a profound relationship of mutual influence; therefore, it is most effective to work with both at once.

I am warm, direct and non-pathologizing, helping clients seek practical solutions in the present to deal with challenging problems. My focus is to seek the deeper meaning inherent in problems using humor and honesty. I have strong belief in the strength of human beings and their ability to change and heal. The majority of my clients complete their work in ten sessions. For persons with more complex histories, e.g., trauma, we will work until we are done. I draw from a multitude of therapeutic modalities including cognitive behavioral, Jungian, solution-focused, family systems, and work in a collaborative model. Clients are sometimes given practical homework assignments to experiement with trying new behaviors to get different results. My clients have an unusually wide range of issues, from the very simple to the extremely complex. In addition to being a lifetime learner, a wife, mother, and community social worker, my clients have taught me to remain curious and open to new ways of working.

Sometimes therapists are called the "wounded healers" because from their own life experiences they have decided to help people. I am proud to be one of those therapists. View 7 Photos I believe in a Holistic Approach that incorporates Mind, Body, and, Spirit. In my office, my clients are free to be who they are and spiritually connect with whomever they chose. I am an EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Trained Therapist and utilize this approach, in conjunction with other practices, as often as possible. Thanks for taking time to view my information. I try to be what I would look for in a psychologist: someone who is tactful, cares about the person, and responds with both knowledge and compassion. You will find me to be interactive. I will not sit silently or simply reflect what you just said. I will let you know my perceptions and discuss research, making suggestions on ways to feel better. I tend to focus both on your emotions and your thoughts. You will do most of the talking, but you will get a genuine reaction from me. My experience includes over 30 years in practice. I see a variety of people about relationships (including couples), anxiety (panic, phobias, obsessive thinking, stress), depression, sudden trauma, alcohol/substances recovery and other problems. Please call to ask if I have experience in the areas you need. I see a wide range of people, including medical and legal professionals, educators, tech employees and managers, gay/lesbians, veterans, police officers, entertainers, artists, and mental health professionals. There is no pressure to come in if you call. You can ask questions and think about our conversation before deciding.

My journey to healing others began over 30 years ago, when I entered the field of medicine. I only ever wanted to be a nurse – from the time I could say the word. I gradually evolved into this field, practicing new specialties, and earning more degrees. I’ve received my Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree, and Doctorate in Nursing at the University of Pennsylvania. I am associated with APNA and ASCH, and a known Reiki Master and IET Specialist, as well as 100 volunteer hours with WOAR. I specialize in treating adults of all ages, suffering from a range of mental and physical illnesses. I’ve come to understand complete healing involves the body, mind, and soul, which is why I modified my application to include both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Energy Field work. My philosophy is to treat clients to the best of my ability, through honesty, respect, and ethical practices, without imposing my own values and beliefs. I believe that my clients’ work goes beyond an hour session, therefore I incorporate additional at-home strategies to further our sessions together. Jointly we can work to re-energize your life! I'm excited to announce that Complete Mind Care's sister company will begin their Intensive Outpatient Program on 7/10/23

Hi, I'm Dr. Greg. Helping clients cope with depression, anxiety, trauma, and relationship issues is the focus of my practice. I try to maintain a balanced approach using an individual blend of theory and insight, practical applications, and humor. This can include discussions of physical, emotional, mental, and metaphysical wellbeing. Anger, work stress, frustration, loss, trauma and life's unexpected complications can get in between us and a peaceful experience of living. Assisting people in overcoming these challenges is my life's work. Please reach out to someone if it seems your life is being directed by negative emotions. Alternative therapies, including diet, nutritional supplements, mindfulness, and meditation, are available. I have been certified in EMDR since 1996 have succesfully used this to address trauma and anxiety of many different types. My personal style is typically direct and practical with an element of humor to help maintain perspective. Initially, the focus of my experience was on the treatment of trauma. Since then, I have expanded into assisting others in continuing their personal evolution despite the difficulties that anxiety, depression, and relationship issues can present. Despite any condition, I believe that it is possible to continue in our personal growth.

I have over 17 years experience in being one of Butte's 3 dually licensed professionals, meaning I am one of 3 counselors both a LAC and LCSW (therapist and addiction counselor). I received my chemical dependency training at the age of 21 (yes, I started young) at St Patrick Hospital Addiction Treatment Prog. in Missoula, MT. I believe that the best therapist is one that you can feel comfortable with, not feel judgement from and believe in their competency to assist you. With the assistance of my many years of being a counselor we will work closely together through the tears and laughter for you to be healthier on the other side. I also specialize in working with and guiding spouses of combat military soldiers with PTSD. In addition I have had great success working with adolescent clients. Finally, I have been told that I am easy to open up to as I don't portray myself as a traditional "textbook" therapist. I have worked with clients in a plethora of environments from inpatient to intensive outpatient treatment. I believe that my non-judgemental, non-traditional and non-authoritative approach is more effective with many people. In addition, I do NOT bill copays. Give me a call or send me an email and we can see if we are a good fit.

My clients are hard-working and desire a better quality of life. They are willing to be challenged, trying new techniques to move forward. I use information about normal developmental transitions to move people when they are stuck. The focus is on identity and spirituality as themes I weave into my work. This does not mean organized religion, rather concepts such as connections, acceptance, peace, and letting go. If you choose to combine religion and spiritualuity, for your own growth, that is your choice. I provide education and support to help clients understand their unique situations and develop individualized treatment plans to help them achieve their goals. We use your personal history to help us decipher current issues. You take the lead, set the pace, and realize your potential. I have experience in chemical dependence, eating disorders, gambling, and sex addictions. I also help family members deal with these issues, due to the enormity of the problems associated with the disease and recovery. I have of extensive experience working with anxiety/depression, young adult issues and marital counseling.

Seeking counseling takes courage and bravery, no matter your life story. Whether dealing with a "normal" life transition, or dealing with a challenging "curve ball," we all need safe and loving support from time to time. Building awareness, growing intuition, and learning to trust and accept all parts of ourselves can help guide us through challenging times. Counseling can be a space to explore and build a deep inner knowing, aiding in the ability to weather any storm with peace and calm. After 20 years working in the arts, I made a life and career change and pursued counseling. Working with Veterans and women who were incarcerated inspired my path to the healing arts and counseling. Using tools like compassion, body/mind connections, and expressive arts, I provide a caring and accepting space for you to grow into the best version of you. You are the expert of your life. It is an honor to walk beside you on this journey. Please reach out for a free consultation to see if we are a good fit.

We all struggle with changes, but it takes a courageous person to admit that they need help. When families or individuals seek help from my practice, the clinicians are eager in taking a hands on approach and create methods in overcoming the problems. We realize that it is best for our clients to leave the office after each appointment with a gameplan and knowing that they have a partner in defeating the problems that have led them to our office. I started working with people suffering from anxiety disorders, but have branched into ADHD, eating disorders, cutting, and relationship counseling. I employ a sense of humor and an eagerness to not only learn about the client before me, but an overall desire to learn all about my client's world. I'm a very curious person by nature, so this is truly the right job for me.
