Do you feel life is restricting you from who you really want to be for yourself, your partner and/or your family? My primary goal in therapy is to help enhance your ability to make choices. Our ability to notice our cycles of interaction in our relationships can help us build trust in ourselves and enhance our commitments to ourselves and our loved ones. This, in turn, allows our choices to become "building blocks" toward lasting joy for each relationship creation of our choice. As a Certified Emotionally Focused Therapist, (EFT), I use Dr. Sue Johnson's attachment, empirically-based model to join my client's journey and better understand their relationship distress. Translating the "music" of the client's cycle of interaction through an attachment longing lens, promotes de-escalation and deepened engagement with partner and self. My niche is in helping individuals, couples and families both inside and outside my own faith-based religious practice. I also offer telehealth services for those who reside in California as well as in person sessions. Come join me as I welcome you to the world of Emotionally Focused Therapy!

Thank you for taking the time to review my profile. We often reach a time in life when our existing skills, habits, and patterns, are not getting us the results we most want from life. Sometimes, skills that once served us well are no longer what we need to move forward. Having spent the last 30 years as an engineer, I genuinely believe that we all do the very best we can with the skills we have and the better our skills, the better our solutions to problems. I work to provide a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore and develop new skills, resolve past traumas, increase emotional stability, and improve communication and conflict management. Increased fulfillment is possible. I am humbled and honored by each invitation into a client's life. It takes tremendous courage to reach out to a complete stranger and allow oneself to be seen and heard in such a vulnerable way. I am here to help in any way I can, support you on your journey, and work together towards your goals. Visit my website to book a free consultation.

Addiction is not a problem to be fixed, but rather a person. I have worked with many people with various addictions and realize that addressing one problem from one perspective is not enough. I specialize in getting to know a person first and then helping that person heal from past hurts, learn skills for problem-solving, improve communication, build strong relationships, practice ways to manage strong emotions, learn to slow down and change their harmful or intrusive thoughts, draw from their faith for strength, develop strong support systems, and with all this, hope of long-term recovery can become reality. View 4 Photos I specialize in alcohol and substance addictions, as well as situations that lead to addictions, such as, chronic mental illness, PTSD, gambling, sex addiction, past trauma and abuse, chronic pain, and more. I'll teach you to manage the uncomfortable feelings rather than feeling the need to escape them. I have worked as psychologist, professor, and supervisor for over 18 years and am currently the CAO at Rhombus University, training students to become mental health therapists. I have facilitated conferences and trainings, am a CE provider, am the MFT Consortium Chair, and want to help you get from point A to point B.

Most clients are looking for a better understanding of themselves and their current life circumstances. They want to know how they got to where they are. Most importantly, they want to move forward. By the time someone has made a decision to start therapy, there is often already a high level of pain, stress, and difficulty in their lives. They want relief and change, and they want it quickly. My therapeutic services are unique in that they are a blend of therapy and coaching. With compassion, insight, direct coaching, and a wide variety of tools and techniques, I will help you to craft the future life you are seeking. When most people think of therapy, they think of talking in a room. My therapy approach offers much more. My focus is on helping you to better understand yourself, all the current parts of your life, and your past. Most importantly, we will work together to help you achieve your personal and life goals through focused steps and actions. I know it is difficult to take a step to start therapy, and then finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming. It is helpful to speak to a few clinicians and see if you feel a "fit". Please just reach out if you would like to evaluate whether I can help you. If I am not the best clinician for you, I can try to help direct you to other great clinicians.
