My counseling philosophy involves allowing a client to be themselves and working to meet them "wherever they may be on their own self discovery journey". I have been in the counseling field for over 20 years and have tremendous experience working with several populations. I have learned that individuals have the innate capacity to grow and become their best selves, given an environment in which they can do so. Asking for help to do this can be very difficult. Regardless of the obstacles in your life, you have the capacity to move forward. I am a LCPC in Boise, Idaho and have experience working with individuals, couples, addictions, past trauma, anxiety, refugees, grief and loss, mood disorders, depression, gender issues, and much more. My therapeutic approaches include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Solution Focused Therapy, as well as several other approaches. If you are self-searching or addressing issues causing you struggles, consider improving your self-growth through counseling in a safe, accepting, and therapeutic environment.

As a psychotherapist and Jungian analyst, I will help you tap inner resources to better understand & deal with life challenges. We will explore who the 'you' is under anxiety, depression, fears, difficult relationships, and low self-esteem. As a Marriage and Family Therapist and analyst, I am flexible in providing the type of treatment best suited for each client, whether it is supportive when navigating difficult life transitions or analytic when exploring the inner dynamics of psyche and Self. During our work together we can explore how dreams, art, journaling, sandtray, & creative imagination play an active part in healing. I specialize in working with individuals and couples who want to connect more deeply with their inner lives, dreams, and unrealized potentials. As we work on exploring the dynamics of the self, individuals often find outer life, relationships changing and find themselves more in harmony with inner wisdom and guidance. My offices are in Pasadena; my hours are flexible, including evenings. I provide Telehealth if you are unable to come to the office and will work with you when setting up fees. I look forward to hearing from you and beginning the journey of self-discovery as well as outer fulfillment.

Relationships are the most important aspect of our lives; how we live, love and communicate with one another. Over the past 50 years, Modern Psychoanalysis has developed new techniques and strategies to deal with even the most troublesome aspects of romantic relationships, and explore new approaches to emotional communication and personal growth. My practice specializes in working with Couples, and I have nearly a decade's clinical experience with a wide range of problems. Feel free to consult my website (see link above/left) for further information about couples counseling and my practice. How do you know you've reached the point to call? You may be suffering in your relationship; arguments and fighting may be occurring, and misunderstanding may persist night after night, or weekend after weekend. Either way, you are feeling that something may be lacking, and are interested in change. Talking helps. If things can be resolved in the treatment situation, they can typically be resolved in everyday life as well. When you are ready, I encourage you to call. There is no charge for an initial consultation, and you will find my office is a comfortable place. Remember, talking helps.

I specialize in working with teenagers, adults, couples and families in crisis, especially those experiencing significant interpersonal conflict. I have comprehensive training and experience working with men and women struggling with complicated grief, depression, anxiety, anger, addiction, personality disorders and traumatic childhood experiences. My style is warm and conversational. I like to create a therapeutic environment in which clients can develop insight into their personal experience and design a more fulfilling and meaningful life. Based out of Asheville, North Carolina, I provide individual counseling and psychotherapy for adults from all walks of life. My approach is informed by modern psychoanalysis which tells us emotional and behavioral challenges often stem from wounds in our past, and they manifest in our lives through distressing symptoms and patterns of painful experience. When left unattended, these patterns will continue to surface again and again until we bring awareness to them. Narratives that were instilled in us as children are often accepted as reality without question, but now they may be counterproductive, harmful, and can interfere with a healthy adult life. Putting thoughts to words in a safe space allows these messages to come to surface where they can be metabolized and released. Counseling of this nature can help you improve self-awareness and be a catalyst for deep, sustained change- not just temporary symptom relief. Successful therapeutic work can look like an ability to embrace a wide spectrum of emotions without judgement and to more successfully manage the inherent and inevitable pain of human life.

I provide a relaxing, comfortable atmosphere where people can grow and learn more about themselves. Those who are in crisis or simply need to talk about life changes can benefit. I'm known for providing objective feedback and insight. The tools I provide can be used for personal or professional growth and development. Whether I'm with an individual, a family, conducting a seminar or professional coaching; I never judge, and my clients are always respected. Whether in person or on the phone, I am a good asset, or tool for anyone who is ready to make a change. I strongly believe in continued education. I take classes to keep myself current with new trends, techniques and research. Although I have multiple degrees and certifications, I will always continue to take classes to gain knowledge. This is one way in which I am different from many of my colleagues. My practice stands apart, because I view each client as unique. I customize each treatment plan according to the individual, not the problem. I help people find the answers within themselves. We work as a team. My style of therapy is best suited towards clients who hope to develop a meaningful therapeutic relationship that can be used to better understand and address uncomfortable feelings and problematic relational patterns. By helping clients talk about disappointing and hurtful relationships throughout their lives, I have been amazed to see how well clients can make sense of what once seemed confusing and disorienting, ultimately moving forward with greater confidence. Additionally, I have a deep respect for the healing process that ensues when people can express their feelings and thoughts free of fear or inhibition. My clinical work draws heavily from my training in psychoanalytic theory and technique; to this end, I encourage dream interpretation, analysis of the unconscious, and expression of repressed emotions as avenues towards change. I also lean upon my lifelong experiences as a musician to help people access their intuition and foster creativity in their lives. As the assistant director of The Center for Grief Recovery, I specialize in clinical work with loss, grief and trauma. I am the author of Personal Grief Rituals, which explores how bereaved individuals can create unique expressions of grief and more meaningful acts of mourning to heal after a loss.

I believe therapy is a way to enrich life and develop connection in a space with compassion and free of judgment. My methods involve treating the whole person, mind, body & spirit. I believe it is important to identify and process emotion, non-verbal communication, somatic expressions and subconscious processes. Memories play a part in how our brains process and store meaning to life. Misinterpreted meaning sometimes becomes internalized and leaves us with unwanted thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. As we work together we process those memories leaving undesired mind/body connections behind. I provide teletherapy services only. I specialize in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. I also integrate Internal Family Systems parts work to find the maladaptive thoughts and beliefs your past has developed in you. You’ve already taken a big step towards your healing journey just by being here. Please feel free to reach out via email, phone, or text whichever feels most comfortable for you. I try to return all messages within 1 business day.
